i think the idea of some PIO from likes of surinam or other former colonies representing india are not viable because those players are 2nd or 3rd generation there, to play for a country you need passport, your father need passport and perhaps grandfather will need passport if father hasnt got it. dont think many of the people of indian origin living in the west indies or other certain colonies can go that far back in getting these documents.<div><br></div><div>but its good to see these guys playing at big clubs, some epl clubs after harmeet singh too...would be good for us british asians if he makes the move...however coming via german league wont be such a bad idea.</div><div><br></div>
  • <font face="Arial, Verdana" size="2">I would not say that. The US National Team is filled with German born players who's granddads fought in World War 2. Parents were German as well but the granddads were Americans and thus those kids were eligible.</font>

in case grandads were german but their children became americans and then their kids became americans hence eligible for usa, whereas for india some 3rd generation person in suriname will have to get his grandfather an indian passport and then his father so he can get that passport to play...i have even seen this with pakistani players from uk whose grandparents are no longer alive hence the documents arent there either which makes difficult to follow the process.<div><br></div><div>afc wants if players passport and id card and same of father, if not father then grandfather.</div>
