@Kool Indian genetics are faulty even with every try you will fail to create the footballing gene in Indian DNA, only you can import the gene from foreign nationals
Why can't AIFF get the boys, coaching staff tested and start training in isolated centre? Because simply they don't want to. That's the fucking present of Indian football. You talk about future, has AIFF defined the road map? Nope. Do they have the vision, capability, resources, intention? Nope. The odd results that we get, are pure individual talents and nothing else. A Bibiano here or a Sridart there, won't change a thing. Remember, the Bhaichungs, Vijayan's, Chhetris didn't need academies or AFC tournaments. They played loads of matches. The more you play, with some guidance the better you get. Our boys and men have been playing less and less every year. There is no visible plan to change that. Our youth leagues are a joke and there is no roadmap to fix it. Our senior leagues are a bigger joke.
We can't continue to have politicians, stooges of corporate houses run the Federation and expect short, medium or long-term results. They are here for their vested interests and not for the greater good of Indian football. Only fools will continue to believe otherwise. IFN members may sound negative to you but we reflect the state of football in India. It's a sad story! Drawing against Qatar isn't a success, IMO it's a disgrace. From former champions of Asia that's where we have fallen to! To change the output you need to change the input. I don't believe the current set up of AIFF is capable of that.
You know it all starts from what the states are doing? Its easy to blame the national national federation but no one talks about the performance (or lack thereof) of State football associations. Sure some if them like IFA, Goa, Manipur, Meghalaya associations are doing well to promote the sport, organize local tournaments and building up footballing infrastructure. But the rest are simply pathetic. No one has heard of any activities from associations of UP, Bihar, MP, Himachal, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat etc. The rest of them in kerela, TN, Maharashtra, Punjab etc are not doing much either.
Unless our state associations start promoting the game at local level, start organizing tournaments at school, college and district level, build decent training centres in each district with knowledgeable coaches and most importantly, curb age fraud, nothing will happen at the national level. They have to make the base for the footballing pyramid. Imagine, there are no opportunities for gifted players from Hindi belt states as they have no exposure to good facilities, coaching or enough quality competitive games. I had a cook working for me some years back - He was a state level player, having represented UP in various inter-state tournaments. But he had to quit the sport st a young age of 24 in order to earn for his family. He told me about his friends who were better than Bhaichung Bhutia or Chettri (his words not mine) but they never got the opportunity gor trials since officials chose others who paid them. Most people play sports in states like UP so they can get advantage of sports quota while applying for govt jobs. No one takes it seriously.
I have no belief in state associations. It's better they are just disbanded and a governing body be formed from clubs of each state who are the real stakeholders. Currently, politicians are running the associations.
Tussle is goinn on between Delhi High Court, 57 Sports Federations, Sports Authority of India & sports ministry over new code. Lets see when this temporary ban is lifted. Delhi High Court should realise that Sports Federations are independent autonomous bodies run on Olympic charted and elections are done under supervision of their international body representatives like FIFA. Any diktat limiting the term of representative or age group or politician / ex player will be tantamount to interference and will result in international ban of India from participating / hosting. So many years have passed and these people still dont get it !!
Government should run sports federations if the federation needs tax payers money, public infrastructure and state security. Other wise the sports federation can raise funds by itself, create their own infra and manage their own security for hosting events. If the white skin organizations ban India, put sanctions on their officials and sponsors. The entire system is rotten and needs to rejig.
Did a search on the Sudeva players who went to Olimpic de Xativa. All 3 of them were part of the main team (4th tier), out of which, one was the substitute GK throughout the season, while another featured in the 7-man substitute list very frequently and even made 2 sub appearances. The 3rd featured in sub list 2-3 times, but never made an appearance. He seems to be a regular in their B team (6th tier maybe). Atleast another 4 young Indians from Sudeva's residential academy in Spain play in the B team.
IMO the project did good in the first year. Hope Sudeva FC will improve their scouting and send more players to their academy in Spain.
