Who named it elite league?? Sunando Dhar?? This isn't a league, please stop with this bullshit.

We are going backward by each passing year. Earlier atleast some invite tournaments used to be there at youth level now even those seem to be closed

Yeah some Manchester league or some thing for 1- 2 months used to happen even those showbiz leagues are gone now.
I really hope they get all these youngsters contracts in state leagues like CFL, KPL, MPL and GPL. We need more coaches. It is one thing to start a youth league but another to have good quality licensed coaches mentoring them. We currently don't have very good 20 + plus higher quality youth coaches to bring them up in a stand alone league.

ISL & I-league teams should be allowed to field youth teams in these state league which can at least run for 4 months. It is not ideal by any means but one they can do with immediate effect.

I kinda feel we are never going to become good on football. Our government doesn't care about sport like say Australia or UK does with 5-10% of our population.

Our state FA's are all corrupt and a lot of them are holding power despite their terms ending and no action from anyone has been taken.

Goa premier league and CFA senior division where by far best district leagues in India. CFA league has 96 clubs across 5 divisions, the best pyramid in India and that league hasn't happened for 5 years because of corrupt State FA. Salgoacar, Dempo, SCG, Shillong, CCFC have disinvested.

Many clubs don't have youth teams. Mumbai City FC are actually the only ones with teams from U-8 to U-19. Maybe BFC too but MCFC academy is actually better with less age frauds and a lot work from City group

The issue is Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia are moving at a much faster pace. Thailand is up there. Were not improving at all. We would've easily beaten the above sides 8 years ago but all of them will outplay as easily ( Vietnam 3-0 ). There league and pyramid has improved massively. They have functioning grassroots

I just don't see us getting any better. Were stuck being ruled by Politicians and administrators who are into this for their image. These guys are only food enough for making loud talks and do next to nothing

I am sick of FSDL and others who would rather make clubs spend 40-50 crore a season on teams but invest fuck all grassroots. These guys could easily run a football team with 20 crore budget and spent 5 crores on youth development and made profits but they decided to inflate every aspect of Indian football mess up the pyramid force other teams to disinvest because of their politics and power and push Indian Football back.

We need to get a lot of shit together tbh. And I've seen many people who have religiously followed Indian Football over the last 10 years just give up and I understand why they have. It's just never going to get better. We are never going to challenge anyone in Asia and we'll probably never qualify for world cup either.

Malaysia & Indonesia are lagging in football just like India. We can't count on them.

Thailand has football culture and also corporate backing, yet they haven't achieved anything significantly. Only positives are Champions league Q.F appearances from Thai clubs and 2018 world cup final round qualification.

Vietnam mainly concentrating on few sets of players starting from youth team. Considering their budget to sports, it is feasible option. Main advantage for these teams is AFF is stronger federation on all aspects compared to SAFF starting from corporate backing, competitiveness, coverage and fans.

AIFF is in-competent and Reliance/FSDL is concentrating on multiple sports and don't think, they will invest much in football. We will improve only if franchises/clubs like City Football Group invest in Indian football.  Without proper youth league/infrastructure, even JSW will not invest much in youth football and academies.

U-17 Youth cup happening now for 15 days

Hyderabad FC whose owner was coming out and talking about how he wants to invest in local football and put their City on map etc fields a team full of players from NE assembled in few weeks probably by one their coaches

As per people in HFC they had no active youth sides when ISL started and they won't play local kids from Hyderabad and Telangana because they aren't good enough. Likely these kids will be let go once tournaments ends and will assemble a new team for 15 days when next tournament starts

Hyderabad is not the only club though most ISL teams only assemble these sides before tournaments, have no active youth sides. They probably wouldn't field these sides at all if not for AFC License

And people think we will qualify for world cup soon and shit. If not for favorable draws we won't even qualify for Afc Asian Cup.

I can understand if number of players are less from Hyderabad/Telangana as there is lack of quality. But what’s bothering is that there’s a random bunch of North East players who are just bought in for the sake of tournament

Hyd FC & Sreenidhi Deccan can jointly organize a tournament b/w schools in Telangana & Andhra Pradesh.  They can start with Hyderabad followed by Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada & Warangal.

Even 2nd tier cities like Khammam & Rajahmundry has football grounds in various schools. It wouldn't cost much to organize tournament & selecting best players for their academies.

If I get chance to meet Hyd FC/Sreenidhi owners,  will definitely ask them on their future plans on academies, city & state level league.  Sreenidhi already have one residental academy, but it is not enough.
