What would be your I-League Club Criteria?

<font face="Arial, Verdana" size="2">First off, no the AIFF are not proposing an I-League club criteria but I for one would support one if made.</font><div style="font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; line-height: normal; font-weight: normal; "><br></div><div><font face="Arial, Verdana" size="2">Right now clubs have to follow ONLY the AFC Club Criteria. For me that is not good enough if I-League is trying to get 100% professional. I mean even clubs in </font><b style="font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; line-height: normal; ">Nepal and Afghanistan </b><font face="Arial, Verdana" size="2">follow the AFC Club Criteria (only a few but there are clubs there that do follow the criteria). Is it time to create our own criteria and stick with it. They do this in the A-League, J.League, K-League, MLS and even a few Euro leagues like the EPL, La Liga etc. It creates a good criteria that can expand beyond the general guidelines for AFC. Also it forces other clubs to follow that criteria which can include whatever the AIFF like starting Academies, start the website. You can also control the finances like keep the team within this range. And you can enforce stadium guidelines and deadlines for clubs to follow.</font></div><div><font face="Arial, Verdana" size="2"><br></font></div><div><font face="Arial, Verdana" size="2">So I would start but I will give that honor to someone else. What should the Criteria for I-League be on your terms?</font></div>

    More or less agree with your criteria @shankar
    but disagree that 3 u23 can be payed above 6 crore

    plus need a grade scale payement something similar to jleague contracts.... Would have done myself if i was not from a mobile.....

    Not all 30 players should count towards the cap. All U20 players should not count towards the cap, a club can pay them as much as they want. The Icon spot as well does not count.

    i think  i league criteria should mainly stress on youth development , & we should give the clubs a concession on infrastructure development as they dont have the capacity to fulfill the whole AFC criteria.Yeah, fans wont come if the stadium is in bad condition.But they will automatically come as football develops.But the clubs should be insisted to have good practice grounds.Clubs should be shifted to smaller stadiums & minor tweaks can be made to stadiums so that they look better.<div><br></div><div>Quality foreigners will like to play in i league played in smaller stadiums filled with fans .At present ,these foreigners know i league as a league with no viewership at all. Also , it costs much lesser to provide bucket seats to a smaller stadium than that to a larger one.</div>
