@munna219777 AIFF should be hurrying. If last times qualification format is followed, then group stage matches will start in june. New coach should be appointed by Feb end, so that he can test players by playing couple of friendlies in march friendly dates.
Derrick will be better than pradyuman I think and also that will gates for player like mandar,Brandon for national colours but problem is it will also open gate for players like Lenny,francis
@Game ; What you are saying is appropriate but this will not happen. Note following points :-
1) World Cup 2022 will be in Nov - Dec 2022. Qualifiers will also start late. in that case.
2) Our 2018 qualifiers started in March 2015 because First Round was for those countries with poor FIFA Rankings. This is not the case this time. Second Round Group stage only started in june 2015. Add 6 months and it becomes December.
3) Salary of National Coach comes from Sports ministry which are extremely reluctant to hire or pay Foreign coaches under present government - be it any sport. They are more aligned towards big corporates. AIFF is also reuctant to organise Friendlies-undermining everything except Circus.
I cant imagine them hiring new Foreign coach in January.
Either July 2019 for that phony Mumbai Intercontinental Cup or sometime before Group Matches in October / November.
