TRC Turf Ground in Srinagar has been installed with flood lights. Khuman Kampala Stadium was supposed to get one soon. There was news of PM Modi laying foundation stone for the same in January. Any updates on it? Has the work started yet?
Have they (AIFF and their masters) released any Press Statement or officlal Release that I-League has been discontinued ?? Or they will wait till Executive Committee decide ?
Hoping AFC shoot down the proposal as not confirming to FIFA norms of being an open league having promotion and relegation. IL clubs should move FIFA over this.
@Deb_Ban ; It is not a requirement to have pro-rel, A-League does not have also and they have no problem. Same with Gibraltar league, San Marino league, MLS, Canada Premier League, Philippines League. 100% sure I-League teams will lose in court, sadly.
If you don't have promotion and relegation then there is no point playing the league for the clubs at the bottom of the table and it kills the excitement for Fans. Also if there is no promotion in bottom league than no point winning the league if there is no real motivation to win the League. Promotion and Relegation gives the small club fairy tale type hopes.. similar to what Leicester city achieved after getting promoted to top division and winning it by beating the top clubs.
