Guys what are our hope against Qatar? Be realistic
since it is a home game, draw is realistic result.
Qatar is technically superior to Iraq & Oman, but more or less facing teams like Iraq & Oman. Last time, we won against superior team is way back in 2001 against UAE, I guess. We should be happy with a point, but winning against them would be an extra-ordinary result.
Anyway, what with IFN being down for some time and other factors, it is too late to make a thread devoted to the Qatar game. Let's discuss it in the general World Cup and Asian Cup Qualifiers thread as suggested by @Nagendra and make Indian NT specific threads when the qualification matches resume in March
Injury Woes: When will Jeakson Singh, Anwar Ali & Ashique Kuruniyan return to action?
Three-star Indian footballers, Anwar Ali, Ashique Kuruniyan, and Jeakson Singh, have been sidelined from their respective club games due to injuries they sustained a few months ago. This unfortunate circumstance has prevented their participation also in the Indian National Team.
As discussed in Inside Indian Football’s Episode 106, Jeakson Singh is expected to return to the field by the last week of December. Ashique Kuruniyan will still require approximately six months for recovery, while Anwar Ali’s cast is scheduled to be removed in mid-December.
We need Jeakson Singh & Anwar Ali against the likes of Australia & Uzbekistan. Missing Ashique Kuruniyan is a bad luck for us, since he is stronger and very good on 1:1 challenges. Since Ashique is not available, Mahesh has taken his role. But we need Mahesh in advanced position instead of playing in deeper role.
Senior India National Team head coach Igor Stimac, on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, announced a 50-member list of probables for the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023, set to take place in Doha, next month.
The Blue Tigers have been drawn in Group B, alongside Australia (January 13), Uzbekistan (January 18), and Syria (January 23). The top two teams from each group, along with the four best third-placed finishers (out of six) will make their way into the Round of 16.
India will set camp for the AFC Asian Cup from December 30 and will directly travel to Doha, Qatar, to begin their preparation.
