Well that is where the problem of money I guess starts. To educate future coaches and scouts requires money to do so. You need the money for infrastructure, supplies needed, and the instructor(s).
Ideally, the AIFF would be given sponsorship money for these things which could then go down to the state levels and be put into coaching/scouting education but that won't happen yet. AIFF can't get sponsors to save their life and I don't trust the IFA IMO.
The state league can still happen though and perhaps money from local sponsorships and tickets can be used for education but it won't be as good as it could be.
If Assam can start a state league with 12 franchises than so can West Bengal.
Any information out about this Atletico de Kolkata U20 side? Do these players even have a chance of ever getting to the first-team level? Who were trialed for the team? Where do they even train?
Bastab Roy seems like an okay coach based on what I found.
Reliance can sponsor or star groups can sponsor if they really want being marketing partners and very great brands in India. They are here to make profit for them self not for AIFF. Divide and conquer policy... Divide the fans , Make I -league weak ... make AIFF week financial ... then AIFF has to beg them always
McDowell Mohun Bagan AC head Coach Sanjoy Sen slammed #Kolkata Big clubs for lack of youth development !!
Sanjoy Sen who ended Mohun Bagan’s trophy drought by leading them to win the I-League last season, pointed that Kolkata’s clubs conduct youth development only to fulfill the club licensing criteria on paper.
“I have spoken about this quite a few times. What are those Kolkata clubs which have won so many trophies doing? Proper youth development programmes should have been started a long time back. It is a very serious matter and it is high time that the ball is set rolling in a proper way. Youth development should not be done just to fulfill the club licensing criteria,” he said without mincing his words.
“The club officials should be accountable. If they can't do it, they have to make way,” he signed off.
