It seems parties from both Gwahati and Hyderabad are losing interest to have direct entry club in I-league, and are at varying levels of disenchantment to drop off. At least that is the news by the Kolkata press. Anybody can provide if that is the case, or something is still brewing?

Under the circumstances, news of a rejuvenated JCT is music to the ear. We badly need a club from the North. I have lost faith on the Delhi clubs. Hindustan FC, City, Heroes, Youngs, all of them. and yes, New Delhi United also.

Yes there should be a I-league team from North India. There is another promising team from the North, Lonestar Kashmir FC.

But will JCT be going via I-leaue 2nd division route?

I don't know why I-league is being played. I don't want I-league to be played in loosing cause.  All the clubs should withdraw from I -league and concentrate on state league.

Why I-league clubs wasting 12-15 crores of money for unprofessional league.

Pro rules /Strict guide lines but play in worst temperature and odd season

No rules - Play in the best time of India.

    Are I-League clubs are gandu's ?
don't they have guts to break away from AIFF I-league ?
    Do AIFF have money ?

Haven't seen such incompetent administrators who run the national league

Why AIFF is not making I-league separate legal entity ?

I-League teams should fight for professionalism and make it separate legal entity as per AFC guidelines. I-league board should involve in the making of fixtures (Not IMG).

I-League is professional. If the players are strictly football players then they are professional.

@Maddie, I think AIFF is arranging that. And it is not a slam bang process to shut down a running league (it is not a cup tournament, you see). They have hired a consultant and we have to be patient.

See, first they have to cut off the supply line (all the unnecessary tourneys like Durand, Rovers, Fed Cup and IFA Shield ...). Ensure that there are no broadcasters, and sponsors. Then make force clubs to withdraw/ shut down and shorten the duration. Stage matches in the heat and in afternoon so that gullible fans face difficulty in reaching the stadium. Play havoc with the scheduling. Give people an alternative with much razzle dazzle ....

I tell you, it is a long process. But they are working on it.

    We have to be patient.

@maddieMysuru , I really love your enthusiasm but sadly we are in India where everyone is here to make a quick buck for themselves.

Its a sad reality that with a stringent AFC guidelines check many of the i league clubs won't pass (it is another story that NONE of the ISL franchises will pass the same) and AIFF can hold most of them to ransom.

Otherwise what you say is true, I league (played over 7 month) should have a competent CEO with experience of managing a Pro league (not the joker we currently have) and should be a separate legal entity, with a share of revenue going to AIFF/respective state associations (who should hold zonal and state leagues again played over 7 months which will give upcoming players a chance to ply their trade competitively all the year). There should be a proper contract formats with smaller clubs being able to earn transfer fees for developing new talents.

However, here in this idyllic scenarios how will #IMG make its supernormal ROI's and AIFF bigshots the excellent sweetdeals currently on offer??

There should be revolution in Indian Football ...

Why do we need marketing partners(IMG) if they cant get sponsorship for i league or national team ?

Why do we need them if they cant find Telecast partners when IMG and star holds ISL ?

Any dumb person can understand this.. IMG will promote ISL apart from that nothing else.

a bunch of grassroots winners get 1.25 Cr where nation's to league winner 75 lakh. Isn't IMG (marketing partners responsibility to get it fixed properly)

I don't blame IMG here ... complete incompetence by AIFF while selecting the marketing partners. way too much power has been granted to IMG-R whole nation is struggling in terms of football.

Huge scam should be uncovered here .. scrapping fed cup.. no preparations for world cup qualifiers ..

I feel AIFF is killing there own kids(revenue sources) and roots to facilitate IMG-R which is very bad.
