I don't blame IMG here ... complete incompetence by AIFF while selecting the marketing partners. way too much power has been granted to IMG-R whole nation is struggling in terms of football.
BAM!!!!! This right here is to blame! The AIFF fucked themselves in the ass and they are paying for it... but... what else happened between 2009 and 2011 for all this to happen? Keep in mind, the deal with IMG-Reliance occurred a month before India played in the AFC Asian Cup.
We need Mamata Banerjee's MPs and MLAs to join AIFF and kick out that asshole Patel. IMG-R won't stay longer and AIFF along with Indian football can be started from scratch.
@EastBengalPride, "Patel won't stay longer"-why please...i am beginning to think no matter who comes #IMG won't find it difficult to buy him out, had higher hopes for chutiya and Co. and look how easily they couldn't get their tounges out of #IMG assholes. Where is the leadership?... i get that you were being satirical, just wondered aloud here.
Reliance and TMC has a relationship of spite. BB15 is a guy who would do anything to stay in limelight. Remember he refused to carry the Olympic torch during Beijing Olympics citing his support for Tibbet. How many time have you read anything he has said or done for the welfare of Tibetan refugees since then forget Tibetan Independence.
But what has TMC done to develop the sports ecosystem in Bengal? No state league yet, state bodies remain as corrupt as ever, no incentives for top clubs to set up infrastructure, they haven't really shown themselves as a good alternative. I would rather have some of the people from Mizoram heading AIFF. They have shown real passion in developing a sustainable and a fabulous football ecosystem in the state.
IMG-Reliance was supposed to improve Indian Football but finds it difficult to find sponsors and broadcasters for national team, fucked up the football calender and National Team barely gets any friendlies with better Footballing nation. Frderation Cup has been scraped and IFA Shield had become an U@o tournament. But when it comes to ISL, sponsors and broadcasters magically appear and lots of money poursin. LetsFootball Guys, LetsFootball
IMG did screwed national football scenario, but i curse the fools who made deal with the devil.
IMG also entered into deal with Basketball Federation of India,it looks better than in the case of football as it did enable Satnam Singh's drafting into NBA. I guess unlike AIFF, the BFI has the final say in basketball matters.
Something good could have happened in football too,but then, AIFF honchos are a bunch of clowns ready to dance for extra $$$.

Are you sure its Sony Six? Cause they already have IPL which will clash with I League. And even if Sony Six broadcasts the league,it will be the guys at GreyMind who will do the production. And I hate their Commentary. I hope they get better commentator. Atleast one British and one LAdy Presentator with good command on English and Indian Football.
