And they shouldn't but perhaps they would change the timings around the do both. IPL will get better treatment but I-League could get a 4pm spot or something.
I realized just now that Sony Kix is football specific channel. And they are trying to get d some good leagues for it. They already have FIFA tournaments and recently acquired FA Cup and Tim Cup. So, if they get I League, it would be good. But I would like to see them doing the production work and not the guys at GreyMind. Their commentary sucked in this season.
At the end of the day, you can not do that. Indian club performance in Asia will also probably fall and you have examples in which foreigners have done well to help the profile of the league, the club, and players in the club like Bengaluru FC and their guys.
I can see 3 options here:
1) Go back to the previous foreigner rule. Keep the 3+1 but only 3 foreigners can be on the field at once.
2) Drop down to 3 foreigners maximum. At this point you could either say that 2 can be on the pitch or all 3 can be on the pitch.
3) Drop down to 2 foreigners maximum... both can be on the pitch at the same time.
I agree that we need to do something to benefit the Indian players but removing the foreigners all together is not the right idea. Sony Norde for example is a foreigner the I-League can really build from... same with John Johnson or Cornell Glenn.

I-League clubs have told the All India Football Federation (AIFF) to do away with foreign players in India's premier football competition rather than force them to sign over-rated marquee players.
