    ASPL has a telecast deal?

Just look at the Assam State Premier League and the Bengal Premier League Soccer formats... and I mean everything about their formats... they are barely alike AT ALL. Can't compare the two leagues.

@Arsenalfan700, not comparison between the two: the only similarity is in the lack of planning in both the cases. Bhaswar Goswami seems to like to jump the gun.

I think this is just something normal that shall usually occur with state leagues... no matter how well run.

@gaffertape, expected some inside story (which we do not know vis-a-vis ASPL/ CMG) alongwith that thumb down ...

@Deb_Ban sorry i didn't mean to give a thumbs down..
I know the CMG people quite well...and I don't blame them completely. ..the guys like Ankur Dutta at Assam FA are a nightmsre to deal with ...so there will be loads of scams and deals behind for sure...

Also with Ankur Dutta losing out as VP of AIFF to Larsing Ming from Shilling...a lot of his clout with Mizoram FA and Sikkim FA etc vanished....since then Shillong Premier League...Mizoram Premier League and Sikkim have all improved leaps and bounds

Indian Super League Incurred Losses of Rs.100 Crore in First Edition: AIFF

Love this: "Das said the AIFF could give a thought to helping state associations with funds generated from the ISL, just as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) helps state associations with finances generated from the Indian Premier League (IPL), once the league turns profitable. (ISL: Looking Forward to Playing With Anelka, Says Chhetri)
"Right now, every ISL franchise is losing money. So there's no money in the system. Only when this thing turns into a profitable venture, we can look at it," he said.

Excuses, as usual. Not even every IPL team makes a profit, and the couple that do barely. Only 10 of 19 teams in MLS did in 2013.

It would be interesting to see the balance sheets....i am more than sure this number includes the hefty "costs" of IMG. Let AIFF make the B/S public as half the Indian football calender is devoted to nothing but ISL, which is following no international (FIFA/AFC) laws nor are the participating Franchises following any AFC criteria. How can AIFF justify its existence, if at the end of the day still no money is being added to domestic football. Let's PIL this football scam!

@deepakc You are speaking as if India was one of the top 10 footballing nations in the world before ISL came in. If there is a league that's to blame for the shoddy status of Indian football, it's the I league. We had 'supposedly' the 'best ever' and 'ultracompetitive' I league but a fortnight later, the Indian team featuring 8/11 players who had no association with ISL has lost to Guam making headlines across the world and making a mockery of our nation.

I for one consider the ISL as the premier league in India. I league is just a preseason to the real football league of India.

@atuljg I believe your opinion is among the majority. Most of my friends who had never watched Indian football have watched ISL matches. However, this topic has already been discussed threadbare before, do read the chat history and I suggest do a SWOT analysis of Indian football post ISL based on the premise that India wants to be a bis Asian team within the next decade (fair assumption?, i guess)

I read all the threads but your continued bashing of the only Indian football league we love is irritating. As many here had said before, 99% of ISL haters would turn into ISL lovers with the inclusion of Mohun Bagan and East Bengal. I'm not opposed to that but I doubt it'll happen.
