it is way ahead in everything so far (every respect including professionalism) except probably a few points
1) duration of league
2) all franchises are new
3) question about sustainability
4) lesser Indian players in playing 11..but if you want quality at the moment this is justified
I read in beangaly newspaper today Sourav Ganguly said-' They never thought of breaking even..Probably they never wont'..And football custom around the world bear testimony to the fact..maintaining a football club very few can think of profits..
This then goes to show that many are plying their trade for passion and not just show offs..
Abhisekh Bachchan and John Abraham's gesture during the 2 goals speaks about that passion..they were supporting ATK and were enthused by the goals but what could they do as Ranbir was beside them..
Lets just support this for whatever reason..If it manages to put Indian football to world map so be it..Why keep on complaining??
@sam I'm not complaining. ..i was at the game..watched it and thats my opinion...you and others are welcome to yours. I think thats the general premise of this and other forums. And for those who thought Subrata had a good game :-w IF he had saved the 1st goal. ..he would've been red-carded as he was a good few yards outside his penalty box !! Subhashish meanwhile looked a lot more assured...but he still can't kick a ball. For those who thought Dika was average probably didn't see how hopelessly out of position he is everytime his team loses the ball. great skills the Mizo lad has...but tactically he is a coaches nightmare
I was at the stadium today..the atmosphere was really good..with huge crowd. Not sure the numbers of people inside though, I would say around 70k.
The opening ceremony from inside looked fabulous, do not know how it would have looked from a tv.
The toilets inside the stadiums were still the same and nothing has been done to improve them. Again I am talking of the the middle tier and do not know about others.
The game was good for most part but few mins here and there it was really slow and boring. I guess this being the first match we can forgive that.
During Bob era many fans were criticizing increase in foreign players fearing small pool of Indian players, now everybody seems to be enjoying the opposite of that.
Instead of announcement they just kept on playing that lets football song which was quite irritating. everytime there was a freekick outside the box there was a heartbeat sound which was ridiculous

I hope ISL will not make these mistakes again.
