1. @gaffertape Please take your derogetory slurs out of here or get banned. Seriously. Don't need that foul mouth in here.
2. It was a great game despite the score-line. Subrata Pal, while at his best, could not od anything for the last 2 goals and the first one.. well.. he had to make a choice. The defense is at fault.
I would take Chuni Goswami's word for anyone else in this forum. According to him (in a daily newspaper), the standard is as high as anything else he has seen so far in Indian football and also Indian players have managed to gel well..And I am favouring him cause I also saw the standard..just put 2 videos side by side -- one I-league game and yesterdays and then people can answer..
Common guys..how its going to help Indian football?? That's the question?? Potential is huge man just think about it.
for decades we have been craving football is popular only in few regioos (benagal/NE/Goa and Kerala)..Except Goa and Bengal. NE provided representation recently in I-League while Keral to be frank never had proper representation--pockets have increased with one shot, one year
popularity---even in Bengal except EB vs MB how many are there in other matches? but this is definitely going to popularize Indian football to many parts of India..For iNdians to be passionate we need Indian household names and I am sure by the end of this season Indians will have 1 or 2 to cherish..
Professionalism-- Man theres lots to learn and gain by the I-League teams (IF ONLY THEY WANT !!!!!!!!!!!????????????????????)
Coaching- Everyone needs to agree this has to be of very high standard not likely seen in India..Thats because coaches are form that part of the world where game is advanced..Even old horses like Climex Lawrence would learn that..and see the potential when they leave the game..we need our youngsters to get nurtured and the learning the oldies will have definitely will help
-Evry club was against ISL initially so the top Indian players might not be part in first season..but what about next season??
I read in newspaper Sachin is harping on youth academy at various age groups in the next 2-3 years..So? Takeaway? Lets see what effect it has to Indian football and I am sure its only going to be good.
So, this is interesting. In the report about NorthEast United during their jersey reveal, John Abraham said this "Within 3 years it will be a full-fledged league like LA Liga . All our owners are very enthusiastic, we all are representing the ISL; we all are very strong.”
Of course, man also said that India is hosting the Club World Cup in 2018 so maybe he is just talking out of his arse.
