wow  I-League become 2nd division. But winner of I-League will qualify for ISL??? 2nd Division clubs will satisfy AFC criteria while 1st division clubs of ISL do not come under AFC or FIFA rules. ha ha ha old unfit retired foreigners will play in 1st division that is ISL. 2nd division clubs of I-League will represent India in AFC Cup. 1st division ISL is only for retired players.

@Ashlesh ; Marcus is the best sports Journalist in India? Still in that article, he came up with same old names Crespo, Ljungberg, Yorke, Pires.  Thankfullly they are not naming Beckham, Messi now.
They are supposed to get 80 foreigners before 30th June. still throwing old names for PR.

I doubt this kind of setup will be sanctioned by AIFF.

I-league is unknown to many Indians
U cant ask Indian people who are waching European Football to watch Odafa Ranti or penn or Uga or Tolgay

Isl has so much marketfing and money put it will make domestic football popular

Dont ask AIFF to develoo I-league clubs wont agree even a bit for what Isl clubs woukd agree

According to our best Source @gaffertape sme Kolkata clubs have poor infra and no toilets
Do u guys think I-league will develop from such clubs
Just see ASEAN there academies are good enough to defeat our under 16

That's the problem. Unless the clubs dont start changing, nothing is gonna improve. Then again same goes for aiff, they're are unprofessional. This is a vicious circle.
For the league to develop we need good players, for players we need infra and money, for that we need revenue, for that we need fans and better organisation, fans need quality football and better players. This goes round and round with no improvement.
Someone has to take the risk. Dont know how AIFF convinced JSW to take part in i league. Maybe from what I heard, JSW have been given access to bangalore stadium total area. They can use remaining area for commercial purposes. So therefore even though they develop the stadium, they earn money from other stuff. DONE DEAL!

@mohammed_87hassan Shut up. I know that is disrespectful but seriously, shut up and please just do some research and watch some old games because what you said is probably the most frustrating post I have read yet on this forum... actually, scratch that, I have read worse but ya... no.

@Coolgagan You are on the point. When people speak about the potential of Indian football I always hear the I-League be included into that and it is there for people to see. We have seen a gradual shift from total random Africans and Brazilians to players who are of high quality like John Johnson and the like. We have seen a proper organization, JSW Group, come in and show off how bad the rest of the teams are, including Pune. And we have seen crowds of 20,000-30,000 in the North East, 90,000 for Kolkata derbies, 10,000-25,000 for normal Kolkata games. Over 10,000 fans in Kerala during the Federation Cup. 10,000-30,000 fans in Delhi for events like Durand Cup or Nehru Cup.

The fans are there. Even in Goa, as much as the Goans on this forum like to tell me not, there are fans. They all come out in numbers for Village games and occasionally for I-League. Yes, you can cry about the old days when this was regular but you know what is important now... the market potential which is bloody huge in Goa and in India overall.

Right now we need to take advantage of all this because other sports are rising, India is not a 1-2 sports nation, football can easily take a foothold and ISL does not have to be the league to do so. We need the AIFF to step up, they are the governing body of football in India and not IMG-Reliance. We need them to say that this is not the right way to get football standard up in India, this is the anti way. We need to change the system from the ground up and ground down. Only then can India thrive in football.
