yeah i'm actually more interested in the quality of non-marquee players that comes to the ISL..Who cares about the oldies..Hope Kolkata signs a good marquee also
@ArsenalFan700 & @coolgagan : guys it's also mentioned that after isl stint he will be loaned again to 2nd div spanish clubs or to ateletico b side. Hotchpotch
@debarghya89 Spot on. The league is only as strong as its overall roster. Marquees are nice but the team wins the shiny sexy trophy with cherrys on top.
@arsenalfan700: kolkata club is sister club of atletico de mardid....so maybe they have a reason to give....ahhh...im confused...all this is hotch potch...but guess what....i dont see other clubs getting players on loan...haha..but you know what...the best part is that even though everyone was skeptical in beginning but it seems you all also have a bit of optimism..despite all this you guys will also watch the league....all we care about is indian football..it will be amazing to see fans at stadium
Eh, I will give them this but to be honest I always had somewhat optimism with Atletico de Kolkata due to their partnership with Atletico Madrid but I still don't have full optimism for the team and league. Fernandez is a coup but he is only the first signing. Who knows how much he is being payed... perhaps he will be then sent to Atletico's B team who only play in the 3rd division? And the coach, he had a nice career in La Liga but there must be a reason he is available now after a stint in South Africa of all places.
At least they are proving that they can do better than I-League but the bar was never high to begin with. I am more interested in what the other seven teams can do, they don't have a world-class team like Madrid telling them what to do.
@arsenalfan700 The problem for Kolkata is they can only sign 3players on their own..Who knows which players IMG have in their list..Atletico management wanted to sign all players on their own
