" Mr Ganguly’s appointment as Deputy Chairman in the I- league committee is a “Death Certificate” for Indian Football".... Bob Houghton. He said it back in 2009 and he said it for a reason. Over the years IFA single handedly destroyed the Bengal Football. Courtesy Mr Utpal Ganguly.

IFA failed for sure but isn't that a part of the overall football governance in the country managed by AIFF.
Now that ileague and ISL will run side by side, IFA should restore IFA Shield and expand CFL into a double legger league. Also a pan state League without the big 2 must commence.

Like it or not. That's the truth. If you want to relate it with your club I can't help you.I am talking about the system not about any club. How could someone holding the post for so long where is the transparency of the organisation. Here in India, if someone get some post he would never ever left the post on his own unless any health related issue occur or any case against him lodge. That's why we suffer as a sporting nation. Cricket is the only game where some how the transparency exist at least they don't hold the post for so long. If this kind ill practices happen in future also, no one can help us.

Once Mohun Bagan & EB get in to ISL then dada Utpal will be unemployed. He is past retirement age so can be appointed as a consultant on 'how to destroy football in a state'.

@EastBengalPride That's why. I mentioned Bengal Football not Indian Football. If that the case how would you explain the growth of goa and Manipur Football. The whole scenario will be changed if the state organisation's operated properly. You can't blame AIFF only. The foundation start from the bottom not from the top. If the root is weak how can you blame the stem. The Bengal clubs are equally blamable, over the years what they have done to improve the game in this part of the country. The same club members runs the club over the years with same old strategy, You have to innovate things with the time. The kind of support the bengal clubs have no other clubs in the country have that but they can't even use the fan properly. If you do nothing and blaming others for your failure things will not change in thousands years also. Remember one thing Charity starts from home.

I don't understand how failure of IFA is attributable to AIFF. IFA do not need any external support or excuses to mismanage state football. They are single handedly responsible for the downslide of Bengal football. Even though AIFF is killing the game at the national level, IFA could have managed it better at the state level. And they failed spectacularly. What's more, they couldn't broadbase the league in the state or commercialize it. And now nobody obeys them any more.
