India National Team: IM Vijayan wants an Indian coach for the Blue Tigers
"India have been good under Stephen Constantine. What has happened has happened. India have a lot of qualified coaches. I think they should be given a chance.
"There are good coaches in India. When we played for India, we came to the 94th spot in the FIFA Rankings under an Indian coach. India's performances were good when (Syed) Nayeemuddin and Sukhwinder Singh were at the helm. My opinion is to give this Indian team to an Indian coach for the next two-three years. Indian coaches know the Indian players well," Vijayan told Goal .
The Keralite, who is currently the Government of India's National Observer for football, expects new players to get a look in under the next coach.
"We can expect a shuffling in the team with the new coach. New players will feature. The likes of Jobby Justin need to be called up to national team camps if not the final squads. There are several good players in I-League. Some shuffling of the squad is needed."
If its an Indian coach, no one is better than Jamil at the moment. Also I think it's the right time to drop Chhteri out of playing scheme of things. He may score goals but we need to look ahead and blood in a new striker or two.
Every time we need a new coach there are few ex-players who wants an Indian coach..but there is no one at the moment who can take the team forward tactically...if we select an Indian on the basis of emotion we will be making a big blunder. We have a set of players and if we include few more we will have a good team and a coach who can take this forward tactically and physically is the need of the hour. Not an India coach who slects his team based on his region..we need a foreigner and a good one. Enough of sasta tikao type coach.
According to this ABP report, there are no immediate plans of appointing a new coach in the aftermath of Constantine's resignation. According to federation sources, the new coach is to be appointed around April/May. There are high chances that the next coach would be a foreigner. A federation official informed that there would be an advertisement in the papers for a new coach. Those who apply for the job would have to sit for an interview. The list of coaches would have to be approved by the technical committee. Being a long-drawn affair, the process would take about three months.
According to the football calendar, apart from the AFC Under-23 Championship Qualification in March, India has no other matches scheduled at the international level. The FIFA friendlies are scheduled in June and September. The new coach would be appointed before these friendlies. It has been learnt that a majority of the players who played in Abu Dhabi are there in the U-23 team. Hence, it would not be difficult for Floyd Pinto or some other Indian coach to manage the team.
"Assistant coach , back room staff all need to change..
Even if we bring in a new coach , whether Armando , Ashley whoever...unless the guys like Savio , Mario / Marcus ( GK coaches) , team managers etc are replaced, then we will have the same old players coming in and things won't improve as they need to.
There is institutional corruption inside the AIFF , and a clear-out is needed to improve...some of these guys treat their roles in AIFF like a Govt job and is a reason for the malaise"

Simply bringing in a new coach (however well-intentioned he may be) without weeding out these hangers-on and time-servers may not bring in the desired change in Indian football
If you want an Indian coach then Go for Khalid Jamil he is best Indian coach currently who is fit for NT, @Deb_Ban if you think he is superstitious or dose black magic why does that bothers you? We saw how india lost 2 matches by wearing blue jersey, if it was jamil we would have won by wearing away jersey, just see at your club how he completely changed MB fortunes by doing black magic, as long as as he can win I don't care about black magic.

I wish people stop recycling the same guys like derick and Jamil.
We need a foreign coach no matter what. Albert roca could have been perfect as he has player respect.
