Atletico De Kolkata to play the home matches at Yubabharati Kriangan ( SALT LAKE STADIUM) in the forth coming Indian Super League. Yubabhati is under renovation for the U-17 World Cup which is schedule in 2017. Sources said that FIFA already intimated to the All India Football Federation that matches of the ISL can be organised at Yubabharati without effecting the renovation that are underway in the stadium.
According to a reliable source that some parts of the stadium will be close which is under renovation. But it is not clear till now regarding the home matches of East Bengal and Mohun Bagan in I League. The top two teams in Indian football were forced to play I League matches at Barasat stadium and even at Siliguri in the last edition of the competition.
Why will FIFA request AIFF to allow a league, which FIFA itself do not recognise, to play in under construction stadium? An under construction/renovation stadium does not satisfy all FIFA/AFC Norms to organise a match? FIFA has nothing to do with an unrecognised club and league. Somebody has just thrown the name of FIFA to provide some legitimacy to this ridiculous suggestion. Its a Health and Safety issue also. If it was I-League, the same AIFF will bar Mohun Bagan and East Bengal to play any match there citing AFC / FIFA regulations and Stadium norms.
'FIFA' allows so many matches in a span of two months, yet they do not allow two derbies before that and two more after that as well: if this does not sound conspiracy or does not reek of kickbacks, then what are?
It's still not clear whether ATK will play in YBK or not. This is today's ABP report http://www.anandabazar.com/khela/atletico-de-kolkata-will-face-a-problem-with-their-home-ground-1.437229 where it says that ATK would want to finish off most of their away games before the FIFA visit at YBK...and maybe a few home matches at Kanteerava Bengaluru... It also says that FC Goa wont get their stadium from 2nd Oct-10 Oct due to BRICS this year, to be held in Goa
Just have FC Goa play away from home in the opening week of ISL. For ATK, I am guessing there are other factors that come into it besides kickbacks. Security for example could be one of them.
What stupid? That means after FIFA inspection we need not to care about the ground anymore? This is just a show off? Morons, grow up. This is about a WC and India's prestige.
