They are the only team kit sponsored by an Indian manufacturer right? NorthEast is by a random American company if I recall (not sure what Performax is)

The jersey design is good. Its just that for the revenues we desperately need sponsors and ATK sells almost 6-8 spots on the jerseys, making the kit a bit dull... Now ATK just needs to increase the sponsorship rates instead of increasing the numbers.

Indian Super League - Atletico de Kolkata's late fightback unable to salvage losing start to preseason

The Kolkata franchise had a noticeably better second half but were just a goal away from calling the fightback successful.

Sourav Ganguly's ISL franchise were beaten by the narrowest margins in their first match of pre-season in Spain, despite stirring comeback...

Atletico de Kolkata, the Indian Super League's (ISL) Bengal representatives from the eastern metropolis, tasted defeat for the first time under newly instated coach Jose Molina, in a pre-season friendly against Spanish side Club Atletico (CA) Pinto, on Wednesday, 7th September.

Pinto, a Madrid-based participating in the Tercera Division of the Spanish pyramid, outmuscled their Indian guests by a 4-3 score line. The match was hosted in Los Angeles de SanRafael, Segovia, Spain.

The Spanish side had the better of shooting opportunities in the opening quarter of an hour, as first Manu Sanchez's shot was saved before Katime's effort from distance was just deflected out for a corner.

However, they wouldn't be denied a goal for long. From a free-kick taken some 10 yards inside the Kolkata-based side's half, towards the left-hand sideline, the ball fell to attacker Sanchez who was stationed on the right side of the penalty box. Taking a touch and beating his man, the Spanish winger's effort - which seemed more like an attempted cross than a strike - beat everyone in the box, including a passively observant goalkeeper, as it rifled into the bottom corner of the goal.

The first goal, scored in the 18th minute, was followed by an immediate second, barely second apart, as the wheels careered off the 2014 ISL champions' cart. Dispossessing a midfielder in his own half, as he sought to bring the ball out of defense, the Spanish side's attacker bore down on the Indian side's goal. A neat set-up followed for an on rushing Sanchez, who drilled a shot in from the upper right corner of the 18 yard-box.

The goalkeeper was well beaten as the shot, plopped in to the bottom right corner, to make it 2-0 for the hosts.

Helder Postiga nearly pulled a goal back for the away-side, but his effort in the 37th minute, headed over the crossbar by a whisker. It remained 2-0 as the sides withdrew for the half-time interval.

Things went from bad to worse for the 2015 ISL semi-finalists in the ten minutes after the restart, when a penalty was given away for a reckless tackle from behind by a Kolkata defender. Nico Ybarra calmly dispatched the penalty to make it 3-0 on a hot September day for the Spanish side.

Javi Lara then initiated the launch of a mini-fight back, as he drew the opposition goalkeeper Alberto into a fine save, before the Sourav Ganguly co-owned side were awarded a penalty in the 66th minute.

Lara lashed a precise and powerful penalty into the top corner, past a diving Alberto, to make it 3-1 for Altetico de Madrid's sister team. Borja followed up with a 71st minute shot that narrowly missed the goal as well, with Atletico de Kolkata ramping up the pressure.

Dani Ramos however had other ideas, as he restored the Spanish side's lead with a low, raking left-footed drive from inside the 18 yard-box, which beat the goalkeeper into the lower left hand corner.

However, a pugnacious Kolkata side slashed it back to a two-goal deficit, as failure to appropriately deal with a corner saw a melee erupt in the box. A cool, slotted finish by Juan Beloncos from inside the 6 yard-box - into the bottom right corner - followed to make the score-line read 4-2 with eight minutes left to play.

The game took an exciting turn when Sumeegh Doutie controlled an over-the-top ball exceptionally well, beating his marker and slotting the ball past the opposition keeper in the 90th minute, to make it 4-3.

However, the comeback was to be left incomplete as the referee blew the final whistle, leaving the score at 4-3 in favour of the home side.
