Asian beach soccer championship act as a. WC qualifier for Asian teams. India participated in 2007. Came last in group. Last two editions they didn't take part.
ABP is publishing an interview with Mohammed Habib (with Md Akbar thrown in) in their Saturday edition serially for last three weeks. Very good interview and very nostalgic read too.
Malaysia is playing Liverpool on 24th of this month. This is including the foreigners of their league. This probably is going to be a masala match which is going to help neither teams, except for the broadcaster/ organizers.
What is for Liverpool in it? Also, how FAM can pull it off while we have to be content with Nepal only?
I remember in the pre J league era, Japan used to often play MU etc in pre season, it did not help their ranking (neither is playing Nepal going to help us) but it gave top quality opposition. If only AIFF can move their faces from IMG's white arse, we could have some good opposition from NT. not going to happen as ISL is only a month away, so wheres the time for minor issues like ileague 2nd div/NT preperations?
@sam oh cool. Friendly against a ISL team will not give much needed opposition. Atleast the rule of 6 foreigner should be dropped in that case and allow as many foreigners as possible or till best possible team is selected.
