Very Disappointing time for the country with Pulama attack, but personally in last 15 days first Mr. Negi IAF Pilot, then Mr. Bisht Engineer of RR (Both were school and family friend to each other) have passed for the country and both belong to the same society. (There are more which i don't know personally).
Of course, we are sad, hurt but what is sadder is how media and some social celeb behaves with Kashmiri student got manhandled in Dehradun which is totally false as the statements are provided by Police, CRPF also.
Uttarakhand people have been contributing to the Indian defence forces for the decade now if you see the population we have. The issue was highlighted in local media that how some Kashmiri student celebrated Pulama attack and local just requested college people to send them home as they can't stand with people who are laughing on the sacrifice of their son, brother and friend.
If you see last few years you will find every next day we get martyred from Uttarakhand, personally, in every family, there is at least 1 person who is working for the forces in the UK but this is the first time when local people have come on the road against pseudo liberals.
Families and other people are saying they are not afraid of giving their life for the country as they have been doing in past also but can't stand with people who are laughing on us on our land only.
Major Chitresh Singh Bisht was about to get married in the march and now while writing this another martyred reported from Dehradun during an ongoing operation in Pulama.
I am writing this, even after so much contribution to the nation, I never saw Dehradun got trending on twitter and 2 night ago because of these people it was trending that too based on false allegations. People abusing us everywhere for that crime which we have not done. Also, hate these Bajrang Dal people for overtaking people movement and making it political.
This list of Cigarette consumption is based on cigarette sales. Actually because of various factors, sales cannot be directly linked with consumption.
Take a case of Andorra. A google search will reveal that Cigarette prices are very low in Andorra as compared to neighbouring countries like Spain, France. Travellers by Car. Truck always make a point to buy them for their usage. So the high consumption is infact them smoked in France, Spain but contributed in Andorra account. I am not talking about Duty Free but within Europe, you can purchase Goods from normal shops and move to other country.
Many British tourists visit Canary islands and purchase cheap cogarettes in thousands (allowed upto 10 cartons) as they are quarter of a price in England.
Brunei is a very different case. It was flooded by cheap Chinese cigarettes. The govt. started putting fine and restricting sales now like if you are caught with cigg which does not contain 75% of cover with warning, they will be confiscated. Local shops have been instructed not to sell those foreign cigarettes-they are sold in Black market. Due to these reasons, the legal sales have plumeted.
In USA, Cigarette prices depend on State Tax. new York has very high tax. Many regular smokers actually drive once a year to South Carolina and fill their yearly supply as they are less then half price in that state due to low tax. High smoker data of South Carolina is infact smoked in other states.
India data without counting Beedi will mean less to me.

BTW can you think of any method other than sample household survey to capture the actual consumption of cig.? I remember Wills used to do that in India when I was a kid.
Guys, its better to not use this forum to discuss complicated political matters, especially that affects our country and that which might evoke very different emotions for different Indians. This is Indian Football Forum, and the only thing we want is love for Indian football (you can hate ISL or I-League) . For everything else, we don't care what you think, but make sure this forum does not become a propaganda platform.
