okay but why drag the names of Carvalho, Mondal and Ishfaq. It is the problem of Selectors, not of those players. The owner himself is not from Kerala.
There whole protest is just so stupid. Do they want to become another Atletico Bilbao or something? Anas Edathodika and Rino Anto already had well established careers in the I-League and had to start small before getting to where they are today. They are not just random footballers who teams selected off the street.
What do they want the Kerala Blasters to do? Just select Kerala footballers for the sake of it? We have not seen a Kerala team in the I-League since 2012. The Kerala team from the Santosh Trophy has a few players in it who, if I recall correctly, were given chances to impress in the I-League and other tournaments but were probably not good enough.
If anything, these fans should be protesting against the Kerala Football Association. The football structure in Kerala is corrupt both on and off the pitch. The Kerala Premier League has not produced any positive results and the newly proposed Kerala Super League also seems so stupid like with including so many foreigners and such. What is the KFA doing to promote football better in the region and make the quality better? Nothing, but they are not getting any hatred.
Ya, the Kerala Blasters made rubbish signings in the Indian department but do these fans not realize the commonality? Most of the Indian players on the team have, at one point in their careers, worked under Trevor Morgan. Trevor Morgan has been the one entrusted with bringing in Indian players for both 2014 and 2015, and even players who were released from the 2014 squad were Morgan players.
These fans are right to protest but what they are protesting is far from what the problem is. The answer is not more Kerala footballers, but better management overall!

Without 62k fans; what is the identity of Kerala blasters? if the club has united this fan base together; its sole responsibility of the club to preserve them. the best thing would have been signing of the available local players in the squad. Kerala fans should follow proper channels; so that their demands and issues falls into the ears of proper management.
Like who? Only ones they missed in the draft were Zakeer Mundampara and Sushanth Mathew (who played for them in 2014). They took CK Vineeth when they could and also drafted in Shankar and Cavin Lobo on the first two rounds and they are better than Zakeer and Sushanth.
The Kerala player pool is just not that good, simple as that.
There is no mechanism to tap potential players due to lack of a football club. Maybe if somebody could coax Mr. ravi pillai or Mr. yousuf ali to spend a miniscule of their assets on a football club, we could get players from kerala.
Even one club like Fateh Hyderabad would contribute a lot of players from Kerala itself.
