@Archak i do read it but bcz of exams nowdays do not have time to comment !

I will not judge Stephen on these 2 matches! will give him some time with squad , he do selected playing XI in I league form which backfired ! but later on it will help us !

During Camp he told players that he do saw players like brandon , Jayesh etc but he want to make sure that they can play in his system or not ! There was quite lengthy discussion on few players before camp ! but then pre image of players do helped few players .. Like Brandon rejected AIFF/Arrows offer ( also played role in selection )

and if u read this part . this is for brandon .. close source to team told me that brandon dont have enough work rate to play in pressing formation

    .

"I have heard about many other players who people feel should be included in the National team , what people have to think about is can the player they want play the system we use? Is the work rate there? Is the understanding there? , can the player perform, how does he train? There are so many variables to consider it is not oh so and so played really well this week or has scored 2 games in a row he should be in the National team"

Well I am with Stephen. He has really convinced with his reasoning. There is no point in blaming him. Lets wait and watch what happens. People went haywire after the loss to Guam 1-2. What if the same happens against Iran?

I have no hope on Stephen
He doesn't know what's our style of play

We scored 4 goals and there was no real build up play involved in them
All 4 were due to Sunil Chhetri individual brilliance

Remove Chhetri Stephen would have been sacked or saving his ass
Without Chhetris individual brilliance we wouldn't have even won against Nepal

    Our midfield completely looks shit

He doesn't even have control over players

When asked about useless long balls by defenders he said he didn't want them to play like that

I think it's the Indian style of play he was talking about

    And hiding behind PIO issue

Only good to give press conference

If a players performs in 6-7 matches in a row, then obviously he is good. Doesn't need that sound reasoning he provided. Performance doesn't just come like that, perseverance is required and regarding training its hard to believe that in SA work rate during training is less than in India.. That should be joke of the year

Self publicity specialists like Stephen , Arthur , Eelco are perfect for India...

They aren't asked the tough questions by journalists ie Tactical questions like they would abroad. ..and spout a lot of well meaning rubbish online and manage to survive for wa while

A load of baseless reasoning for the loss!! First of all I don't understand the concept of work rate which Stephen is trying to point out to reject Brandon. With the same reasoning, I felt even many players like holicharan should also not be in team. Secondly, if he didn't have knowledge about Romeo after he left for Brazil, he could have tried to contact Atletico PR to get updated information about him or the least he could have called him to the camp and then drop him if he didn't fit the bill. Thirdly, everybody knows about the issue of lack of technical growth of Indian players, highlighting them time and again is not helping. But instead by selecting unsuitable players shows off the tactical incapability of the coach. Fourth, everybody knows PIO can't play for India in near future, then why beat the same drum time and again. Rather, use suitable tactics with right player and get the results. I am not expecting good results but atleast respectable result.

I can carry on with the rant about this baseless blog. But, I do agree that there was lack of preparation for the matches. Also we should give Stephen 5-6 matches to judge the results. (By the way, his performance till now with 4 matches - 1 win, 1 draw and 2 losses, Great!!). One thing was in favour, that he selected better team than Wim but the same should be reflected in the results. And Mr Stephen - focus on rectifying the mistakes rather than giving excuses. We want results not your stupid reasoning on a stupid blog.

SC was smoking weed or what during the interview? First support ISL, then ridicule ISL. Foreigners only play in Striker Position in I-league, Com'on times have changed, there are many Indian strikers in I-league teams. It is another matter that they are not upto the level.

He has completely lost it. God save Indian NT.
