Who has got better training facilities??? Atletico Paranaense or top clubs in I-league???
What Zico is saying if he had persevered during his time in the brazilian club he would have got better chances in other top brazilian clubs. Football is a very competitive sport where there is no such thing as second chance. I agree he shouldn't sit in the bench all the time but I think they were planning something for Fernandes in future.
Many footballers do harbour the intention of going abroad and play for foreign leagues. However, the bottleneck being the fact that I-league and now ISL pay over the top pay to the Indian players compared other better foreign leagues.
Coming to Romeo, same thing happened I feel. He should have stayed with Atletico P for some more time (even with less game time) and should have tried lower/weaker teams of Brazilian leagues by end of the year. But, given the money with ISL is more and promise for regular football he came back. I don't blame him for this. I would have done same thing if I was in his place.
But, this problem of paying over the top for limited quality players is hampering Indian football in the long run. However, I have no idea how to stop this.
but I really hope someone like brandon ctaches the eye this time and gets a tranfer to a realistic club even if in Brazil..not Atletico P..that is way too big a club
Sandhu started in i-league and then went to a proper club. Romeo and Brandon needed to first prove themselves in I-league. They went outside for trials and training not in proper club like sandhu. They refused to come for national team camp after ISL finals. Why? SC will never call them again. Playing proper club proper league national team matters. Training trials of be to zico look good for marketing but are a waste unless you prove it in league.

should have been patient like Sandhu
