How many age groups are currently getting trained at various AIFF centers? Last I heard, 2 or 3 of them closed down, and we're all pinning our hopes on this batch to do miracles. IMO TOO MUCH pressure for the kids they shouldn't ideally have to carry on their shoulders.
Besides, long-term this is the only part of Baan's plan's prototype that has been in effect less than half-heartedly. I wonder how we will select the best from atleast 4 or 5 generations of players of this standard if not even better. Senior team's WC is far far away, let alone competing with top teams.
But the results were class. Congrats! Really good stuff from Nicolai and the kids! Some positivity and hope finally
@shibier (They got pissed off by our coach's statement ... BTW what is the score of Yemen vs uzb . Nepal' chance depends on this match. Aleady UAE, Thailand and Vietnam qualified as second best team ) your comment make me to sign up here and reply your comment it is your coach man he started it i guess losing to Iran, 3-0 is a reason to be proud and jubilant. Iran should have scored more for close your coach mouth .i think your coach affected by bollywood and his behavour was for butthurt he just showed his dirty mind i have respect for indian people but your coach and your team arent in iran level and i think he said that to become famous I have no problem with India, but reading your coach comments and seeing how disrespectful and delusional he is, well, let me just say, you guys will never get anywhere as long as you have that mentality.
@bihonar, Had the match been in India, result would have been reverse. Also, forget our coach listen to Lebanon coach comments. He felt India was the best team in the group technically.
@Bihonar: Welcome to IFN There is nothing disrespectful in what the coach said..he put his opinion based on his own assessment of his team and the kind of teams India played before..I think Iran fans are taking it way too personally..coach had his own expectations from the team which couldnt happen..why take offense on such a small thing??
@jitug1979 yes india have good team with amazing result but my bro must know bahrain is affected by arabian revolution and lebonan is war country lebanan coach hide behind of his bad result
@bihonar - Nicolai Adam's opinion is exactly that - his opinion. Every one is entitled to one, and you have made your points. So to say childish things like asking us, a forum, to ask the coach to "close his mouth" is nonsense.
I can hazard an educated guess as to why he may have said those things. 1) He played against Iran on 3 occasions in the past with Azerbaijan 2) Now he has had a chance to see another youth team of Iran 3. Coming just after the tour of Germany (14 played, 8 wins, 2 draws and 4 defeats against the likes of Red Bull, Eintracht, FSV, Greuther Furth etc) he has had a chance to asses the teams he came up against in Germany and now in the AFC U16 qualifications. 4) He also said Iran is the best strongest team in the group before the game I think.
So, just think for a second what he has said before and after, and ask yourself where he is coming from. That will proabbly give you a better idea as to why he commented such a way.
