I think we have another batch of U-16 Indian team preparing at Goa. They should get to play against the Japanese team, considering for any replacement to the main team, they are the ones who might be getting a chance.
And this is considered to be the best team of the country in that age group, after so much of investment. Sad, we will continue to have a bleak future.
U-17 or U-19 success does not mean that at senior level also they will be champions. This is just a parameter. Some countries are good at Junior level, some are late bloomers. Spain, Portugal, Germany, Italy, England have never won U-17 World Cup while countries like Switzerland have won it. Look at case of Jamie Vardy. What was he doing at Junior level or even upto mid 20s. All is not lost. This is just a parameter. Other factors also weigh in. Clubs, Academies, Infrastructure and lot of patience is what will help us in achieving success in future.
this was reported earlier that Japan would not be able to make it to the Youth cup but would still come for a camp..unfortunately Indians team wouldnt be in India at that time
It should be Japan u16. The scoreline could have been worse. Heck i believe even our u16 lads might beat the U19 team. Actually Jerry & co. are better off at FC Metz academy rather then getting demoralized loosing to an U16 team.
