    @deepakc
    First let us have 5 months of competitive football with proper CFL & proper IFA shield, which I doubt will ever happen since tails of the officials are pulled by IMG-R. In the unlikely circumstances of 5 months of competitive football taking place.... we will have time to talk about eliminating match fixing.

    The matter of debate is not whether IFA can do much to eliminate match fixing, but whether IFA really wants to eliminate match fixing.

    CFL has been dying long before the ISL.

    Please dont find faults with ISL and IMG-Reliance for CFL issues. Match fixing, controversies, malpractices going for long.

    CFL television rights are with STAR and they will pull out if IFA schedule clashes with ISL.

    How does that even make sense? I ask you! First off, most CFL matches are during the day while ISL is during the day, the grand majority of ISL fans don't care or know the CFL, and STAR has CFL on STAR Sports while CFL is on a different channel (STAR Jaisha).

    ISL has caused a lot of bad things but ruining CFL is not one of them.

    You are thinking rationally here @ArsenalFan700.....most of us can never accuse IMG-R of doin that.....its quite well documented that Star mandated a 1 month window for the league.....if your logic can be extended...why not have the ISL window for all preseason tournaments (rovers,Durand,Fed cup...along with ileague 2)...none of these tournaments are likely to influence ISL ratings and will give 100's of 2nd rung players valuable game time...but can u think of Aiff ever allowing that till #IMG abdicates the throne??

    Durand Cup happened during the ISL last season.

    To have a 5 month long season (from say August to December) to conduct a proper double legged CFL Premier Division League & IFA Shield proper (not U-23) is not practically possible because
    1. Even if all the matches are played at the Maidan & starts at 15-00 h, there will be problem of deployment of Police on the ISL match days. ISL will be given preference because deployment of Police will be stage managed since so many big businessmen & the IAIFF V-P himself are involved.
    2. All efforts will be made by Persons who matter to disrupt the 9 Matches (2 each in CFL between MB-EB, MB-MS, EB-MS, IFA Shield SFs & Final) which should be played at YBK on various fabricated reasons.
    3. TV Channel will say they can't telecast live a match from 15-00 h & another at 19-00 at different venues because of technical difficulties (which I think is acceptable).
    4. ATK will resist because they know that if a longer version of CFL & proper IFA Shield is held at the same time with ISL, the so called ATK supporters will vanish.
    5. IFA under the able control of AIFF V-P who is also IFA President will say that to ensure smooth running of IFA matches they are forced to shift the games to Malda, Krishnanagar, Shantipur, Basirhat etc. etc. so that clubs themselves are forced to object.
    Thus we can never have a 5 m long proper season for IFA tournaments. From October to December no disturbance, no diversion.... only high class football. One has to remember that all these are done to improve Indian Football Standard & we have to give up small things to achieve a Bigger Goal.

    Would they care about reversing the time schedule? That is, ISL match at 3:00 PM and an IFA Shield Final (say, a derby again) at 7:00 PM? :D :D :D

    Namesake hosting the tournaments is not the thing required, the timing is what matters. That way, IFA have staged CFL in a super-compact manner, away from the city, at odd time, without any marketing. Would we say IFA did enough, only people are are not interested? Attendance were still high though.
