CFC is short because smaller teams can't hold onto their foreigners for too long, cause of their very small budget. Few years back smaller teams had to protest just because the league stretched for 3 months+

CFL should be of 2 months duration with 8 teams in the top tier playing double legged matches. Any team which can't afford foreigners for 3 months should play without them then. The Army XI and SAI East Zone does play without these random Africans anyway.

One day the AIFF will become serious and mandate that all sanctioned leagues must be at least 3-4 months in length and have a minimum of 8-10 teams.

If we had a proper 7 month national league, I would actually advocate CFL being made a U-23 league with 3 foreigners allowed on the field. And then we could have a 3 month double legged league where the Big 3 play home matches in their home grounds but play the away matches in Barasat, Kalyani etc.

Apertura / Clausura are the 2 Leagues played in the top flight in Argentina.
A bit like a Autumn league of 16 rounds and a Spring season of 16 rounds....
This way you have 2 Champions in 2015-16
