MSC must have hit a "note mine" below their ground in the maidan. So they are signing players after players as per media reports.....good for Kolkata Football if the reported signings finally come through.

For CFL what is the Foreigner rule ? As far as I know any Premier Division team can register 3 & field 2 any time. Does it mean any team can sign 4/5 & register any 3 for a particular match ? Also Asian quota is not applicable I think.
    Can anybody confirm please ?

East Bengal : Germán Alejandro Lesman, along with Seidu Bancey, will be called for trials before CFL. Sanjoy Sen is likely to be declared coach soon, after interventions from Firhad Hakim, a minister in the Government of WB. Sanjoy Sen wants Pritam, Debjit, Prabir, Pranay and Balwant to be signed; along with Garcia.

Mohun Bagan : Ranty Martins is likely to return to Indian soil for a go at CFL. Wedson may also join for a short time deal.

Mohammedan : Duffy is likely to join as their third foreigner.

Sanjay Sen will be appointed as EB coach for sure as he is not being retained by Mohun Bagan. But they will have to keep Manoranjan away......simply because SS wants complete free hand & zero interference. That will not be good for EB as Manoranjan would have been an asset as an advisor & tactician.

Lajong To Part Ways With Long Serving Coach Thangboi Singto

Shillong Lajong are all set to part ways with long-serving coach Thangboi Singto after being at the helm for four seasons, according to close sources.

Thangboi's contract with Lajong ran out on 31st May and he has not been offered an extension.

The 42-year old took over the reins from Desmon Bulpin, midway in the 2012-13 season and guided Lajong to safety. Under him, Lajong managed to stay afloat in the I-League in the successive seasons even with some occasional flirtations with the relegation zone.

Under Thangboi, Lajong finished the 2016-17 I-League season in the 5th spot with 26 points from 18 matches, their best ever finish in the I-League.

Thrusting young talents into the limelight is something which Singto espoused, as he often started the I-League matches with 7-8 U-22 players.

It will be interesting to see if Singto's successor follows the same philosophy.

Lajong, however, are yet to decide on a new coach with the hovering clouds of uncertainty regarding the future roadmap of Indian Football.
