@dritiman7 is right. There are stadiums in the city like Kishore Bharati, Rabindra Sarobar, Gitanjali, and others like Howrah, and suburban towns (within 10 KM radius of the Maidan), but all of them are unfit for matches/ under different owners (cricket associations)/ have legal issues. IFA is such a weak and organization.
Play fields in Kolkata is a huge story to discuss.
@Pondicherry India's corporate sector should step in and improve local football grounds for the sake of Indian football. Are there any desi companies in India who manufacture artificial turfs for football grounds at low cost?
@munna219777 Are there any official websites or forum where we can appeal to Indian companies to develop such products? I don't think FIFA-approved artificial clubs will be that difficult to manufacture in India. I am only suggesting ways where football infrastructure can be revamped at low cost. Above picture of Calcutta's 2nd division league is pathetic.
I agree that such matches should be played in stadium but who shall pay the rent?? Even after so many sponsors IFA will post loss at the end of financial year. Its CFL division 2 even the cfl div clubd have financial probs. Ambulance and proper medics should be arranged though
A game played at Cooperage Ground, Mumbai although no spectator allowed in the stands as BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) has still not given occupancy certificate for the stadium.
