    @cybertron its a multi purpose stadium...but not like those we currently have in India...it has stands closer to field like any other football stadium.....it expects to earn revenues from other things not just one sport..dont think its a financially viable option in mizoram...what mizoram wants is just standard stadiums....google transtadia gujarat

    @coolgagan But are there any football crazy fans in Ahmedabad, Gujarat? If yes, then let's see. If not, then organisers will have no other option but to convert it into another cricket stadium. :(

    If Ahmedabad does a Bengaluru FC then it would be great for Indian football. :)

    At least the money spent on creating these world-class football stadiums should be used on standard stadiums or creating astro-turfs in North-Eastern states for schools and colleges.

    @7negi ; Neither AIFF nor IMG-Reliance control JLN Stadium. They do not have any authority to do any renovations. Those stadiums are Government controlled. It will be interesting to know that who is funding all this work?

    My guess would be the budget sanctioned for fifa u17 wc since FIFA would make a visit on october to check the updates in our stadiums

    @archak ; Yes. That makes sense. Unnecessarily IMG-Reliance is taking credit and paid media is creating impression that they are doing renovations for fantasy ISL.   IMG is not spending even 1 Rupee on any infrastructure. only false credit thru paid media.

    @gaffertape ; Q 1 :- Why is BFC paying the Bill? The stadium is owned by Karnataka Government.

    Q 2 :- Reconstruction of Bangalore Football Stadium not yet started?? Even if they start it now, it is unlikely that it will finish before U-17 World Cup. So this means that Sree Kanthareeva Stadium will host U-17 World Cup games in Bangalore.

    Q 3 :- Next year I-League BFC games will be held in Sree Kanthareeva stadium or they will again try to host it in Bangalore Football stadium as noone knows when they will demolish it and again construct it?

    Q 4 :-  What is Bangalore Franchise of IMG Fantasy League doing??? :P

    @munna219777 ;
    Ans 1 : Govt has no need to renovate the Athletic / multipurpose stadium , BFC have need ( AFC criteria for AFC games) ... " you want to use our stadium..then please pay X amount & while you are at it , also fix , a,b and c...."

    Ans 2 : Bangalore Football Stadium reconstruction has hit the usual state Govt hurdles and is being delayed due to the BBMP and Govt officials looking for their palms to be greased. According to the German Stadium construction firm GMP , there is no way to have that stadium ready by 2017..or even 2018 for that matter ! Most likely Kanteerava will have to be used for U17 , if Bangalore is to host , but that would also require KSFA to provide a grass training ground in the city too...as all U17 WC venues must have a practice field of the same playing surface as the stadium in that city.

    Ans 3 : BFC 2014-15 games will be played at Sree Kanteerava ,there is a chance I-League might be played at old & AFC at Kanteerava, but more likely all games at Kanteerava . All depends on crowd response to new venue and also the cost of Kanteerava is very high per game.

    Ans 4 : that's top secret , and announcement will only be made next week, so expect a leak from me a few days before  <:-P

    Oh! So a german firm is gonna construct the stadium. They do have ambitious plans, don't they??
    @gaffertape how is the current condition of kanteerava as compared to old stadium... Is it any good? And lets say that ultimately kanteerava gets to host U17 then how much renovation work will it require??
    In this case looks like we are gonna have 2 world class stadiums in bangalore...cool
