As per the source almost 120 cr. required to maintain major stadiums in West Bengal. The finance department allocates almost half of that amount. The balance amount comes from several entertainment events.
@dhritiman ; @rudra ; I have my reservations against PPP model. Either Government should build it or some Private Company build it completely. In PPP, what happens is that the Private Company gets money from Public Sector and then it intentionally delays the project so that cost escalates and their profit margin will increase with indefinite delay. Look at Mumbai Metro PPP ?? what happened-nothing. Look at Delhi Metro-Government built and it is fantastic. Corrupt Private company in PPP Model will give some money to NGO to put up a falkse case in court so that Project gets stalled and their profit increase due to delay.
Government should be strict with collecting revenue for use of stadium.
@munna219777 First of all thank you for reading the article. It is true many public - private projects are getting delayed in India due to various reasons. But it may not be the case here as construction part is not huge and critical issues like land acquisition or rehab not applicable. I do agree with you for the operation part. However I felt it better as this model can prevent pitch destroying activities like music concerts or gala opening ceremonies.
One more football stadium is built in Bellamy with modern facilities worth 5.5 crores in rajkumar road.JSW donated 75 lakhs to build it. Flood lights available with gaint screen, small and compact stadium with artificial turf.. Under 19 league on the cards next year here and my first in the mobile comment
@Maddie JSW is doing a wonderful job by improving football infrastructure in India. They should invest in football infrastructure in other parts of India also such as Mizoram, Meghalaya or Punjab. By the way is it Bellary or Bellamy?
Currently I don't have pics,may be in couples of month I'm going to visit the stadium,sure I will take and upload. It's bellary, very infamous for bellary mining scam. it's near to hampi... Historical place.... it's very hot in the summer... But great to have exclusive second football stadium in Karnataka.
DC of bellary requested BFC to organize National level U19 league there. BFC spreading it's wing in Karnataka. Bellary is place where they are getting raw materials and this comes under community development of the balance sheet of jsw steel
