Contract awarded in 2009. This is 2015 now. More then 5 years and this progress? Will that be fit enough for Football or more like exhibition arena? What is the cost of this arena?
They started construction only 6 months ago as per those reports. So, its should be ready by 2016 unless there's an unforeseeable delay. The cost should be in excess of 250 crores for sure.
Stadiums are usually considered as dead investments by businessmen. Let's hope for this pilot project to be financially successful so that similar projects can be started throughout the country. We all saw how a successful Delhi Metro brought in a Metro revolution throughout the country. Every city is building one now.
