Thiruvananthapuram Green field stadium to be inaugurate today evening 6pm by Hon Chief Minister of Kerala. As per the report still lots of modification works needs to be done also the cleaning works !!.  A portion of stands are not yet done with the bucket seats. They claim that this is the first stadium which has the lighting facility to telecast in HD format.. Dont know what does it mean ? For HD streaming is there any thing to do with the staduim  lighting ?

The greenfield stadium coming up at Karyavattom here could be India’s answer to Bird’s Nest, the Beijing National Stadium; Allianz Arena, home of FC Bayern Munich; and the Maracana of Rio de Janeiro. !!!!

It was quoting a WSG executive. According to her this is only stadium in India capable of HD telecast. What she told was you've got to have the lighting perfect in construction stage itself and once constructed it's not possible to have this. I'm not exactly sure about this stuff.

Also 4 Star TOILETS are ready! =D>

That is bullshit. For HD telecasting all you need a certain LUX strength of lighting but we have that in many stadiums, mostly cricket, hockey and JLN Stadium Delhi. All the Star Sports productions are done in HD. I had read that Bird's Nest bullshit too. With mere 161 crore budget this stadium comes nowhere in comparison to even the JLN, let alone Allianz

The Government expenditure for this stadium is 161 crore with another 100 crore put in by the contractor. The 161 crores is being paid by the government over 15 years. That comes to around 10-11 crores only per year, the cost of Del Piero for this ISL. The contractor will run the stadium for 15 years after which the government will own the stadium. This is financially a very feasible model which can be replicated by the ISL teams and governments.

Well, what they might be saying is that it is fully HD complaint. I am no expert in this field but from what I know is that for stadium to be fully HD complaint, it must have equal LUX all over the stadium. I think its not always about the LUX but more about the light distribution. Take  Indira Gandhi stadium in guwahati. Poor light distribution IMO.

This is ridiculous. Even 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi were HD broadcast by Doordarshan. lighting was good there too.
What about turf of this stadium? All I see is sand/mud. All they need now is a heavy downpour!!!!!

Turf protection panels have been laid completely now for the opening and closing ceremonies. Natural grass turf will be laid after the games. Rain is not a concern at this time of the year, munna.
