Looks like they used temporary seating this weekend at the MSG... could we do the same in India?

Great use. Is that MCG? That stadium is a money spinner. Cricket, Football, Rugby and Australian Rules Football. They have a removable Cricket pitch.

It was actually the Etihad Stadium.... my mistake. It looked like the MSG and I got to excited to check but regardless, the comment still applies.

India needs modern type of stadiums for this type of us.

It is Docklands Stadium as it is famously known. Etihad-yes naming rights given to Etihad nowadays. Yes good one. Australia Rules Football, Rugby, Football all played here.
  • Sachin Tendulkar after visiting Greenfiled Stadium during National Games has been impressed by the infrastrcure. Wants Greenfiled to be home ground for Kerala Blasters. Talks are in progress to bring 4 home matches of Kerala Blasters to Trivandrum this season. Also few matches if T20 world cup in 2016, IPL marches.

Soucre - Malayala Manorama - metro edition.

Personally i think it is a bad decision. No matter Greendfield is better than JLN Kochi, but the atmosphere at Kochi cannot be the same in Trivandrum. Passionate people from Malappuram travel to Kochi to see the matches, they can't travel to Trivandrum which is 7 hour journey by train.
Kochi is a vibrant city and has a young population who form the most of the fans.I don't think there will be a capacity crowd in Trivandrum.

Instead of making Greenfiled as home, they can allow 2 matches and retain JLN as home.

Greenfield Stadium will host only 3-4 games next season. Probably more of a test situation. The problem is that the infrastructure of the stadium is apparently some of the best in India.
