That should never be a football stadium in the I-League. In fact no Cricket stadiums should. Unless you do what Australia does but still dont like it.

@arsenalfan:- you came with contradictory statements...one place you say you wont like cricket stadium to be changed to football and other place you want prayag to move here...

why this kolkaveri :P

I reached at the Cooperage at 7:30 pm as that is the time around when I see the floodlights on. I wanted to capture it under the lights. The boundary wall is getting new cement plaster and a huge part of it has been removed on one end of the stadium.

I entered through that passage and was interrogated by 2 security guards sitting right there. When I said I am from the media, they got a little scared and asked me to come when the authorities were around. Unfortunately they stopped me from clicking the pictures.

After a lot of conversation with them, one of them was convinced and escorted me to the pitch. It is flat and smooth. I removed my shoes to feel the artificial grass. It was as soft as it could be. The only difference from a grass pitch was that you don't feel the cold soothing sensation while standing barefooted on it.

There is a good drainage system. The drains run all around the pitch.

The stands were not there at all. Not even the foundation. The workers had their temporary tents instead. I talked to the security guy if he had any idea when will the stands be up. He was clueless about it and thought the ground belongs to the MU Soccer School.

There were 4 pairs of small goalposts across the length of the ground for the soccer school kids. alongside the soccer school tent, there is another smaller pitch of artificial grass. It was too small to be called a practice pitch.

I was asked to visit tomorrow to get hold of the officials. So I will go there at around 1:30 pm and try my luck. However I will get some pics tomorrow anyhow.
