1. Land was transferred in 2013, construction started in late 2013 and stated for completion towards late 2016. 2 . Government hasn't put a penny as you say. Only land was given for a small cost of 5 lakh /year which will be hiked by 10% every year and that's literally free. But that's how you create quality infrastructure and promote investment especially when you want a dead investment like a stadium. 3. Government can retake the stadium if the company doesn't fulfill their commitments. 4. Do you really expect someone to build a stadium without revenue generation opportunities like Retail, Hotel, Theatres and Shops? These are the only modalities that can ensure a successful return for any stadium investment. 10-12 Lakhs is the maximum you'll get for renting the stadium for a football match.
All in all, it looks like a model that can be successful. Only time will tell!
Bagan is renovating the stands...Remaining stands will also get bucket seats..Construction to be completed by this December..Floodlights to be functional for next season
After 100 years of playing football today a historic moment first ever turf maintenance seminar in India, wat can u really say , it is positive #letsdrinktoLetsfootball
VYBK will be handed over to FIFA(or whoever) from next season for W20 WC. So no I-league and ISL there next year. Rabindra Sarobar is still under maintenance. What are the alternate grounds? I-league will be kicked out to Barasat or Kalyani, or even to Kanchenjonga at Siliguri (it is done periodically, so no issues). But where will ATK matches will be held? Sarovar capacity will be too less for ISL, the sponsors will not like it. Any updates?
