The DSK Group that is into real estate is building a 10,000 capacity football stadium at its DSK Dream City township in Pune and construction will begin in February, Kulkarni said.

The stadium is being built by Populous group, who have constructed Wembley and Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Kulkarni said.

Ardeshir Jeejeebhoy, CEO of the DSK Shivajians said they were preparing for this big leap for many years and waited for a couple of years  as they wanted to develop their own academy.

In India, it is very easy to fool people by telling lies. Just throw up some names Wembley, MCG, 1 year and people will start beleiving.

    1) Populous Group is Architectural Design Company, not any Construction Company. They do not construct anything, surely not Wembley or MCG.

    2) Populous Company was founded in 1983. Surely these stadiums existed before that time.

    3) Wembley Stadium hired about one dozen Architectural Design companies for Blue print and planning when it was redone recently. One Consultant of those one dozen companies, HOK Sport got merged into Populous Group after Wembley stadium contract was over. That is the connection.

How they are claiming that the company which constructed Wembley and MCG are building DSK stadium is just hilarious and fake.

This reminds me of another backdoor entry club Dodsal Group which was claiming to build stadium in Mumbai for 2017 U-17 World Cup. What happened now?

Always in Future tense throw up some artificial dates and tall claims of MCG and Wembley!!!!!

Lets see when Bangalore football stadium gets started? or Ahmedabad Transtadia gets completed in 2016? or Trivandrum stadium IL&FS gets completed? Private companies have a terrible trackrecord in India as far as constructing stadiums is concerned.

Government stadiums, despite so many, are all shit and mostly athletic courtesy of the sprinter lobby. The latest victim of the sprinter lobby is the Thrissur Corporation stadium which is set to have an athletic track. Even in cricket, it's the state cricket associations which are building the better stadiums.

Unless the clubs themselves build, we'll have no good football stadium. If DSK does build, they'll be the first Indian club to own and operate their stadium. They already have the land and it's not governments unlike what many other clubs like BFC tried to obtain.

We are yet to see the designs... this could very well be another athletic stadium.

Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president Sourav Ganguly on Friday clarified that Eden Gardens would have never hosted Ghazal maestro Ghulam Ali's concert as it would have meant losing matches of the upcoming World T20 due to damage it could have caused to the playing arena.

Ghulam Ali's concert will now be held at the Mohun Bagan ground but Ganguly did clarify his stand after there were some allegations from the anti-Ganguly faction in CAB that he had said "No to concert" without placing it in front of CAB's working committee.

That's better.  Ghulam Ali's music is better suited for indoor.
