This is why in the end, we will need new stadiums, whether it is from the teams or government. Stadiums are more than just the pitch, capacity, dressing rooms, and lights... you also need safety of the fans and most stadiums in India don't have that.
Everyone would have the right to watch their heroes as long as they pay for it. Clearly, demand is greater than supply so it's something they need to do.
@indian_gooner There was a term "Hampden Roar" in olden days. Whenever Scotland scored a goal, the roar of fans used to be heard half way across the city. In a famous story of 1929, a Scotland player who was injured and being treated at a Hospital more then 1 mile away from the stadium, but the "Hampden Roar" informed him that Scotland has scored the goal. That was in the past, new stadiums and less crowd cannot replicate that.
We also have our shares of noisy stadiums in India. Eden Gardens of Calcutta and JLN Cochin are very noisy venues. Locals can tell us more about that. We got Civil Engineers here @Deb_Ban @sam they can tell the technical part of Stadium Acoustics. Can we listen to roar from Eden Gardens across Hooghly River or what? How far Kerala Blasters fans roar is heard in Kochi ??
Saifai, home town of Samajwadi Party’s Supremo, Mulayam Singh Yadav, has a world class Cricket Stadium, Athletics stadium and a Hockey Stadium. It is barely a town but thanks to Yadav’s reign as UP Chief Minister, the Town has seen tremendous growth in Sports infrastructure. And you know what the worst part? It will never host an international event, cricket or otherwise.
