Parrikar has given instructions to the contractors to “expedite the work”, sources informed ‘The Navhind Times’. <br>The opening and closing ceremonies of the Lusofonia Games will be held at the stadium and as such the construction work here is going at a breakneck speed to meet the deadlines. The sources disclosed that the work at the venue has fallen back by around 20 days. This was also confirmed by the top officials concerned with organisation of the Games.<br>The Chief Minister inspected the roofing, the turf and ground conditions, VIP lounge. Later, Sports Authority of Goa executive director Sandeep Jaques, while addressing the media, stated that the Chief Minister “by and large” was satisfied with the work that is going on. Asked what kind of works are left to be done, Jaques said that chairs are yet to be fitted in the stands, some plastering is to be done and some works are ongoing at the Southern side of<br>the stadium.<br>Along with Jaques, sports director V M Prabudessai was also present, besides the contractors, engineers, stadium manager Guru Verenekar and engineer<br>Elvis Gomes.<br> </p></div></div></div>
