Star India’s association with the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL)is set to
continue as it has retained the League's media rights for INR 180 crores
per year, totalling 900 crores for five years. Star India will hold the
media rights for the PKL, India’s second most-watched sporting league,
for the next five seasons (2021-2025).
The e-auction process saw the media rights split into four packages -
(A) Global Television Rights, (B) India Digital Rights, (C) Gaming
Rights and (D) Consolidated Rights Package, which consists of all the
media rights offered in the aforementioned packages. Star India has
retained the Consolidated Rights Package. While the PKL is broadcast on
the Star network, it is streamed on Disney+ Hotstar. Star India had
previously partnered with Dream 11 as its gaming partner.
Nature of sports like Kabaddi and cricket is such that lot of television ads can be squeezed in.
In Football, how will you bring ad revenue when game is going on ? Cant compete with cricket and kabaddi
They also have to face intense competition for Ratings with European Football. There is absence of homegrown stars. Competition for TV Ratings with more popular sports like Cricket.
Kabaddi is popular sport in Rural areas. No such luck for ISL
and 9 lakh watching India vs SA Test Match in hotstar.
For most of the games, EPL viewership is limited to 30k-50k in hotstar. People are watching only Manchester United , Chelsea & Liverpool matches. People are not even following teams like City , Arsenal & Spurs in hotstar.
Sahal seems to have hit a rich vein of form; his third goal in as many appearances and he is now the joint top Indian goalscorer of this season (tied with Liston Colaco at 4 goals). Hope he continues with this performance and later it translates into some form with the NT which desperately needs it
Greg Stewart, it seems, is one of the better foreign recruits this season.
in the match kbfc vs jfc, kbfc were denied a clear penalty. kbfc are trolling refree pratik mondal and trolling his intsagram profile here he put flag of african country Niger instead on India. in foerign countries, we know referees because of good reputation like Pierluigi Molina, Howard Webb, Graham Poll etc, but in India we know refrees based on poor and wrong decisions. Speaks a lot about standard of refereeing in India.
@thebeautifulgame Yes he has improved in the aspect of being at the right place at the right time. But clearly he is still piss poor at 1-1 situations. If you look at it, this season he has missed 5 sitters. Even the last goal he scored. He just lashed at goal keeper while there was plenty of open space. Fortunately the goalkeeper deflected it and it became a goal. It's still too early. I definitely don't agree with the coach's verdict that Sahal is the future of Indian football team. Liston is a better finisher than him by comparison. Sahal has that special something but he is still not there yet in terms of finishing. The difference for Sahal is people like Alvarez is on fire and the attacking third with luna and dias is enabling sahal to be more offensive in the right place. That's the difference for this season in my opinion. So if you put him in NT he might still be piss poor.
Star just keeps on shifting the ISL Matches to different channels based on their priorities. With PKL and India test match going on, the last 2 matches were on SS3 which is not even a HD Channel. So you basically can't watch ISL in HD on TV atleast. This is just pathetic. Correct me if im wrong.

Great goal on set-piece by Greg Stewart
