People like us werent wrong when we pointed out that 32+ age foreigners with MV lower than Indian players were probably the worst signings of the season.
But frankly speaking Jonathas has been the biggest disappointment.
Last time, @giridharan had said that the EB management had recruited Maghoma to do some 'graceful jogging'. This time they have gone one up and signed Chima Chukwu, who not only cannot 'jog', but also cannot run, make a pass and sometimes literally 'crawls' on the ground to receive the ball.
On the other hand, we have this local lad Hira Mondal (who has honed his skills mainly in the CFL, I-League second division and I-League), who has been a rock at the back at the heart of the EB defence for quite some matches, far outshining his more glamorous and more fancied Indian counterparts who have been playing in the ISL for quite some time. The goal-line save that he made against Chhetri today was just fantastic.
Will Igor Stimac still say that I-League has a 'lower quality of football' and should be used as a 'filter for the ISL'?
Come on that is not a breathtaking save Nor does that mean he should be in the NT. But I'm happy with his performance. He always had potential and had lost his way a bit but is now getting back there

Hira was pretty ordinary in last season's iLeague. He has definitely upped his game a couple of levels in ISL, atleast defensively.
