    There is a news doing rounds that FIFA has almost awarded the U17 World Cup 2017 hosting to India. We will try to confirm the news ASAP.
    This will mean at least 7-8 truly Worlds Class Stadiums in the country.
    It is to be noted that FIFA had urged AIFF in June this year to bid for either 2017 or 2019 U17 World Cup

    Awsome!! <!-- s:clap: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/eusa/clap.gif" alt=":clap:" title="Clap" /><!-- s:clap: --> <!-- s:dance: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/eusa/dance.gif" alt=":dance:" title="Dance" /><!-- s:dance: --> <!-- s:occasion-olympics: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/occasion/olympics.gif" alt=":occasion-olympics:" title="Olympics" /><!-- s:occasion-olympics: -->
    This has been shown in bengali Sports News yesterday where Subrata Datta told that it will be confirmed by FIFA very soon.Seems India already got the green signal from FIFA,only official confirmation is pending.

    but according to cpd the bidding has not even started plus the goverment trust is neccessary which they have said will not be provided unless the sports bill is passed in parliament. it is going there for the second time. praful patel one of the culprits among those who didnot allow it to pass the first time

    This is absolutely crazy,we can't even guarantee a single new stadium.AIFF have been talking about World Class renovation of Bangalore Stadium and the one in Kolkata but where are the renderings ??? I mean at least where is the computer model design ???

    Before talking all these stuffs,AIFF have to show atleast 7 World Class Stadiums to be even considered.

    ybk is ready, cooperage will be ready(i can assure u coz of work frm wifa so far), jln from delhi, paljor from sikkim, shillong stadium is got some good amnt for renovation...so we are left with only two grounds i am sure bangalore/kerela/ahmedabad(the stadium coming up after the collabration from guj govt and transstadia)/ chandigarh would do....even chennai stadium is ready to cover up anytime though....
    so 7-8 stadiums in 6 years is not a difficult task i guess

    I dont agree with you. Infact the above mentioned stadiums are not world standard. None of them will be approved by FIFA. YBK has just ogt two star rating for its turf, Cooperage does not fulfill the requirments for holding international matches and same goes for other stadiums as well. I think except for one stadium in Cochin (if im not wrong) and the one in Pune, none of the other stadiums fulfill the criteria for hosting internaional matches.

    but we have 5- years min to get it reach that level...so i wonder why is that not possible...when a world class racing track can be made in time of 3 years why a world class stadium not possible???
    we can easily go for a try at u-17 WC 2017....this is another chance for us to grow after the first biggest chance of playing in WC which we missed out...this tournament will force us get into a bigger and better team in the future...

    If a tournament like FIFA U17 WC is going to be held, it will mean a huge property of sports. Sponsors will not hesitate to get a share of the enigma that it will generate. The Infrastructure building companies like Jaypee will take big interest in investing on this property. So, 5 years is a great deal of time to stage the World Cup. The only question is, how much transparency and professionalism will be offered by the AIFF.
