Plan a new city based franchise national league system for now and start bidding for the ownership rights for major cities of india which icludes both footballing and metro cities of india like Kolkata, Margao, Ludhiyana, Kochi, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Banglalore, Sikkim and shillong and build 8 world class stadiums on these bidded cities with partnership from franchise owners so that they can won these franchise clubs right after the conclusion of U-17 FIFA WC, by the time, we will gain some huge popularity among young generation towards pro. football and class clubs unlike current clubs which are not even of std to owe a stadium of their own....!! i know its something similar to wat jose had said, but i can't agree with his views of inserting i-league clubs into it.....its going to make the whole system ugly and worse like today....!! we really need to make it a brand new package...!!
I dont believe there will be any takers for this from big corporates. Because people in India are brainwashed into believing that sports means only cricket and nothing else. If only we have a strong National team which can win something big say AFC championship than that can change the football map of India forever.
  • I totally diagree Jose...if true businessing professionalism is brought to highlight watever the sport is...it wud turn to be a grant success...especially a sport which is most popular in india after cricket....!! just take Pune FC for example....!! did anyone had any idea of pune following football.....none their had any interest to indian football...all were blindly following european football or american football......but, now, with the formation of a professional outfit like Pune FC, where hav pune football reached?? they have one of the beast fan following in pune presently......!! so, there is no meaning in waiting for our national team to get better with a weak semi std. league in place....its gonna be total stupid...!! to attract children or youths to football is not a hard task if the whole system is new and of enough quality....and we have that quality to impress our youths too....the only thing is that these talents are playing for diff. or these so called goan and kolkata giants.....!! so, all laurels and championships are only going to these regions...u can check the history of i-league or NFl......other than once where JCT were the champions(sadly, they are no more) all the rest of championships were either from kolkata or goa.....so, wat we need id to just merge the amount from 14 teams to just 8 or 10 sided city based franchise league with only one or max. two from a region....!! if such initiations are done, players can be mostly differentiated to their local regions which can be given more priority too.....we have so much of talents from kerala which can be assembled to form a kochi side, we hav so many talents from punjab that can be assembled to ludhiana side, and also we have lots of talents from mumbai, sikkim, shillon, bangalore which can be assembled their respective local sides so that the fans their will have some reasons for cheering their side...fans will turn out and so the corpotates to invest in big......popularity rises and followed by our std. of game!! if std. rises, we can have national league heros with very high morals and can be chosen to have national caps......with these bunch of national league heros of improved quality, we will definitely be getting accelerated on our FIFA reankings......see where we are now and where were we few years b4.....thats what true business or professionalism can bring....not like introducing some rubbish Zoomba and cheer leaders to full empty stadiums.....!!

  • I agree to u guys that we i have reached to a certain level which is not relevant for this thread, but you need to understand that each and every thing of indian football is related to each and every feild, let it be club football, international football, infrastrucure, foriegn leagues, academies, marketing, every single factors are some way or the other realted to a single topic called Indian Football.....!! so, cant help it....and if still promting me to reply to your comment on my view of a new league being impossible, am ready any time to reply u back.....and if something is left for me to say, it wud be said....and i hav already said abt this mighty task....i mean....y shud we term it impossible and leave it as it is...thats wat we were doing for the last half acentury.......i-league's or these giant clubs cud only focus on middle-lower community.....if a game need to get improved, we need to have fans from every single community, not just the lower, but the midlle-class, middle-upper and the upper class community.....then, y shud our clubs only focus on just the middle-lower class community to cheer for their sides by playing in a rented and shared stadium, why wud they be lacking in complete professionaism in every management fields including merchandising and marketing.....?? why are they so much into star players who are not from kolkata but mostly from north east, south india and west...?? they, are in a phase of domination though financially weak...why wud we need a financially weaker(though not really weak), but showing hesitation on spenting much on their club.....??? and if they make big changes like adding star players with few other reputed players, increase the wages, improve the infrastructure, bring in some icon players to their side....ya, its definitely not possible if the league is the same as the prize awarded will also be the same...wat difference can the prize money bring in every changing season.....?? for last season it was $250k and now increased to $320k....really big amount which will definitely attract the corporates or club owners to invest more on their club....
u kiddin...its just 320k, its not even anywhere to the prize money awarded to the sides ending up last in their respective national leagues of nations like japan and korea...!! and, dats the reason y i said, we shud change it in whole ...start from level 1.....i-league is a league which will never ever gain popularuty as its something which is fixed up in minds of many.....but people will turn up if they came to listen that our football has a new high profile league about to start featuring all big stars...any one wud be interested to take a look on it.....!! new city based clubs, some wealthy corporates, local stars playing for their side, some icon stars on their side,.....the whole profile will get a drastic hype....popularity will rise, the new generation of kids will be dying to see their cities clash with the rival cities....!! and, then if a kolkata united comprising of a super squad like ashim biswas, budhiram tudu up front, mehthab, jewel raja, syed nabi, lalkamal in mid and debrata, abhishek das in defence, subrata paul keeping the bar with few other good talents from kolkata and outside kolkata and some european, american, african or asian class players in the side facing a goa fc containing top goan stars like alvito d'cunho, climax lawrence, branco cordozo, peter carvalho, noel wilson, anthony perriera, clifford miranda, godvin franco, shilton d'silva, gilbert oliviera, jaoquim abranches, denzil franco, rowilson rodriguez with few talents from other states and also foriegn high class stars.....even, i sitting in kerala wud be interested in going and watching that game...then, just imagine the excitement and passion that will come in the minds of each and every kolkata and goan fans, mostly kids, nothing can match that, not even a kolkata derby....!!! if these kids get noticed, the elders will also get involved in it and result in increase of fans following followed by a hype in popularity and thus resulting in more corporates to invest on this particular field....

Mr Varun this is the limit. You are trying to divide India on regional lines. Your philosophy if implemented will create hatred in the minds of Indians against each other. In one post you say we should unite as one and in the other post you place suggestions which will divide our country. It is clear your views are hypocritical.

hello....?? who u calling a hypocrat?? be senseful...!! if its a national level league, it shud be a division of india and if its an international championship, it will be division of different nationals....so, division in thet criteria can never be termed as a hypocratic move...!! if so, all the nations having a national league with differentiated clubs shud be called as hypocrats....!! if there is no division(so called hypocrats), then the current national leagues wud be played between....mmh....i guess... <!-- s:whistle: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/eusa/whistle.gif" alt="" title="Whistle" /><!-- s:whistle: -->
there wud be only one team as u are calling the ones who dividing these nations as hypocrats...!!!
  • and for ur info., am always saying about uniting the cities to be as a single sole representator of the respective city or state and thats wat i hav been telling whether its here of there...!!!! and u trying to be the sole dominators of indain football, so wat can that be called?? true leadership???? rather i wud call it a greedy and occupied!!

Doesn't really matter as long as we don't have proper youth programs , infrastructure ,coaches, nothing is going to change even if we host this tournament
