please don't close this thread.. atleast for this season..
they are still active with academy's and updating their site regularly..
I don't know why PFC shutting down.. they should be in I-league and act as a feeder club for ISL & other I-League clubs.. work case based on budget constraints.. atleast I-league 2nd division
Once you shut down first team hour academy gets shut too. No one will take PFC academy players. How many JCT or Mahindra youth players are there today? ZZilch
Mumbai FC survives longer than Pune FC.. opened an year earlier might be closed but not at same time.. MFC is the way to run an I-league side ...
No offence to the efforts of other teams.. given the output from I-league, the method inducted by MFC to play wait and watch is better suited that PFC who tried their heart out to finish as high in the table and lost hope in the league
Mumbai FC had one advantage that Mumbai has some Football History and Culture. Pune was never a Football City. Mumbai had Rovers Cup, Cooperage Ground, teams like Mahindra United, Air India, Tata, Mafatlal plus a cosmopolitan population. Pune never had that pedigree in Sports. Even though Mumbai had stadium problems, Mumbai FC survives and Pune FC closes down. Good decision-it was always wrong to have a Football club in Pune.
