• Sad. Both were penalties, neither was red card.
Im pissed. Ref from qatar is biased.
I had half my mind wishing they would walk off
if we somehow can manage an away goal....

me too... but good that they stayed on the ground... really gave tough fight....

subrata's shuld be red carded... but not sure, why the hell he gave penality for that,...

totally he awarded... one extra penalty and red card... Refere is b**l s**t

Proud of the boys.
Gonna cheer for them in delhi. They should demolish uae then. With 11 men and good refs im sure we can beat this side
• Doesn't the red mean that Subrata is out for the return leg too?

Karanjit is doing good...so its ok

+1 .... he is good..

also... senior member like subrata shuldn't behave like that...

I think this is one of the most spirited performance that I have seen from India EVER... to concede only 1 goal (a very well worked goal) in 70 mins against a team that is 37 places higher with only 9 men is a very good performance. Frankly speaking, the tie may be over, but definitely these are good signs for the future... You never know but for the stupid referee India could have even managed a win...

Well Played .. very well played

I thought I'd posted a comment saying essentially the same thing, but i can't find it now.

Debrata's foul was clearly a foul, and most refs would have called it, and awarded the penalty, but certainly not a red card. I don't think he intentionally brought down the striker, he just couldn't control his speed. Subrata had the ball collected, so the striker really wasn't denied a shot at goal, so there is an argument that the foul was in a dead ball situation, and so not technically a foul at all. Still, it certainly looked like a blatant foul and its the ref's call as to whether it was a dead ball or not.

Why Subrata raised his knee so high is beyond me. That makes it very easy for the ref to card him, even though I don't believe it was malicious. Subrata had caught the ball cleanly and the UAE striker unnecessarily charged him after the fact. He had enough time to stop before he got to Subrata but he did not. Had Subrata not raised his knee, it probably would have been a cardable offense by the striker. But in any case, as a technical foul, it should not to have been a penalty, should it?

I thought he called the game pretty well apart from those two awful decisions.
• I feel its a good performance.... with 2 men down for almost 70 mins...

Colaco made a mistake without sending any defender... truly our defenders strained a lot..

also what climax is doing... he hardly made a tackle... rest are good... we need to replace him with an attacking mid fielder..

our IA team players seems to be good... Raju and Jeje played for 90 mins with full of energy...

well played india. this surely puts end to the myth that indian players cannot play 90 mins. btw for the first 10 mins india played a mixture of long and short passes. the long passes were not hoofball but to players in space

Exactly. But for the blatant red card to Debabrata, he wouldnt have behaved that way! Bloody Ref! Just killed the game. We were playing such a nice passing game!!!
