Not sure whether u r correct in saying Calcutta football is competitive..it certainly isnt except for 3-4 clubs at max..the rest of the clubs are just fodders to the big clubs..sometimes they create upsets but thats 1 in 100....no wonder we havent seen any one else winning the league except the big three..but yes..Calcutta league gives an opportunity to otherwise fringe players..Other than that, i think the league lacks quality.

I think you guys should combine the Calcutta Football League and the Bengal Soccer League. Get a real state league, BPLS is not a real state league in my opinion, its more of a break-away league from the crap system we have now.
Agreed..I had long questioned myself why was football confined to only Kolkata..Football is as popular in other parts as it is in Kolkata..I am from Asansol and I have seen players who were very talented and could well have made a niche for themselves, but lack of any opportunity has marred their careers...no wonder, players plying their trade in Kolkata leagues belong within a radius of 100 km from Kolkata...We do not have dearth in quality but we lack in positive thinking and real zeal for improvement. i cant think f anything else.. <!-- s:violence-smack: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/violence/smack.gif" alt=":violence-smack:" title="Smack" /><!-- s:violence-smack: -->

Make a new league on the lines of the Nagaland Premier League called the Bengal Professional League (BPL) and have 3 clubs from Kolkata and the rest being from everywhere else. Also FORCE the I-League clubs in the BPL to use there Reserves only.

No prizes for guessing which club u support and honestly I dont blame u.... I have seen Sunil play and he has been most frustrating, missing sitters, constantly giving back passes, hardly having any influence on the game....
But in the forum u can post what u feel about the game, players etc. I think here I have been a lot of allegations on Bhaichung's USFC or Sunil's non performance...so its not one sided, however, a lot depends on who are joining and commenting, u can post ur opinions, I am sure that wont be deleted unless it has abuses or other stuff not fit for reading
