looks like a slight tough team to beat; can be won as -we did against qatar. But the team that played against qatar has changed a lot-playing style, players etc.Hope we dont get thrashed. Coz that will affect our challenge cup campaign.
Goalkeepers: Karanjit Singh, Roy Chowdhury, Pawan Kumar (3rd Keeper should always be a youth keeper and Pawan has been better than the other ones, his only competition is Gurpreet but Pawan has been better)
Defenders: Nirmal Chetri, Gourimangi Singh, Raju Gaikwad, Syed Rahim Nabi, Arnab Mondal, Adil Khan
Midfielders: Steven Dias, Lalrindika Ralte, Clifford Miranda, Sanju Pradhan, Jewel Raja, Lalkamal Bhowmick, Baldeep Singh, Lester Fernandes, Anthony Barbosa, Freiman Peixoto

That is my 23 man squad for the AFC Challenge Cup and match against Oman.
Now for the Oman match specifically I want to see this 18-man squad... (4-2-2-2)

MF: Sanju Pradhan, Lalkamal Bhowmick, Baldeep Singh, Lalrindika Ralte

SUBS: Roy Chowdury, Adil Khan, Arnab Mondal, Freiman Peixoto, Jewel Raja, Victorino Fernandes, Sandesh Gadkari
Then have later in the 2nd half Chhetri come out and Sandesh come in OR if India are losing and need a goal take out Sushil and put in Gadkari to see how the Chhetri-Gadkari partnership will work
Also have later on Baldeep Singh come out and Freiman Peixoto come in, ALSO for those who dont know Peixoto, he is the assists leader this season in the I-League and he actually has 2 more assists then the 2nd place players so he can create goals.
And lastly have Raju come out for Arnab Mondal or if we are losing bring on Adil Khan instead.
This match should be treated as a competitive match. This is no friendly for us as after this we have a tough AFC Challenge Cup to play in. This squad brings in youth and experience which is still good into play. Of course dont over rely on youngsters, that is why I said OR put on this player because if you need a goal you put on more experience, not youth (unless that youth player has enough experience).
Lets hope something like this is chosen. Notice how I did not include Climax.

Problem is that usually a squad consists of around 3 goalkeepers, 6 defenders, 10 midfielders, and 4 forwards. You could make it though 8 defenders and 8 midfielders and take out Barbosa and Lester Fernandes but they are both on form. Gurjinder I think should wait till the Nehru Cup for his first senior cap. If we had maybe 3 more games before the AFC Challenge Cup then I would say ok, give the kid a run but we only have 1 or maybe 2 practice matches so we should just go with the experience and the youth who have already played on the National Squad (exception being Arnab who has been really standout and has a lot of leadership ability from what I hear. Rowilson just dosent do it for me. I dont think he is 100% ready for the national team. Also Nirmal Chetri, Gouramangi, Raju, and Nabi is probably the best defensive line in India today. What could be better? Also Adil Khan is a utility player, so he can play everywhere in defense. We need one of those.
Ya. Pawan or Naveen it does not matter as long as the 3rd choice keeper is a young one. Naveen has conceded a lot this season but that could be due to the shit defense at Pailan and Pawan is based off what I heard and the stats he has. He has only conceded 6 in his last 3 (2 per game which is not bad considering the defense he deals with plus he makes tons of saves, good saves too. Gurpreet should be doing better. Number 1 at East Bengal and still giving silly goals away. Bengal have a good defense so it must be his fault unless Bengal's defense is that bad.
Exactly. Not selecting Felix would be good for India, a young keeper and Churchill as we all know he wont be getting any playing time with the team, also a young keeper could gain experience of being with the seniors and maybe inspire himself to do well and also Churchill wont miss there number 1 keeper who would be gone for nothing.

Just saw that and I am sorry to be a bit skeptical about this but this guys does not have a reliable source even though it sounds like Savio would choose that squad. I wont believe anything until confirmed on the AIFF site.
