    I am waiting for a news which will involve some new foreigner. The same old crap foreigners moving from here to there. Something like Okocha or the Argentine guy who was in talks with  Dempo.

    Nah! I do not see that very far away. May be 3-5 years. By that time the clubs would improve their infrastructure as the newly introduced franchisees will give them a tough competition. If a certain PLS can bring Cannavaro, Pires and all why not I-League

    Dear Somesh : This is what n n me think! but wht abt the officials/people managing a football club in India! ? we talk of lack of mktg. in Footballin India, but ur mktg. is only successful when u have a a quality product to sell to the people... with our kind of football, u dont have many takers - especially with the advent of EPL and La liga being available in our drawing room today thru TV! We need to have a professional setup, professional managers to manage the club/build up infrastructure at the grass root level who will churn out tomorrow's stars from the nursery level. Most importantly we have to come out of this "club" mindest - it has to be run like an oraginsation. Unfortunately we dont have it today, and with the kinda myopic eyes most of India's club football is run, I dont see any change in even a distant future(hence we are seeing a steep decline in our world ranking). I dont think money to be a deterrent, provided u hv carved out a right product which is saleable in this country.Lets not forget, its the most popular sport in the world over(hence sponsors would be more than wiling to put in money), but how are we going to benefit with ppl like Canavarros/Pires(ageing stars)turning out in India. They have set thier eyes to earn some fast bucks and make way - thats not going to take our soccer fwd. If at all we get them,we should use their expertise in training our boys in the academies; thats how we need to establish supply lines to the senior team. Unfortunately in the last couple of years most of the top clubs in India(barring Dempo)have lost focus on that and hence if u see, we are not getting the right balance. For e.g. in the entire year MB have only had a Manish Bhargav to talk about as an upcoming youngster. We need more of these guys. Also u need good coaches to train budding talents. Its only during Karim's regime in MB we had Manish Maithani, Karthik Kisku, Biswajit Saha coming up the ranks.In the last couple of years, Prayag has develeped talent under the coaching of Subrata and Sanjoy Sen to develop today's Kingshuk, Arnab, Denson who are now being sought after by big clubs today. It was an huge achievement of Prayag to develop talents, despite having infa issues(as compared to MB and EB)but they had no option as they didnt have the money power to build up a formidable side in the last couple of years; but this year its different - with good backing from sponsors, they are now running after big names.as they they have sensed to be in the championship race in coming year's I league; and am afraid, they also would not be able to scout talents like the way the have been doing and hence the supply line will be scrapped(reason being its a result oriented world where people look for instant success and sponsors would like to have their money's worth and hence they might not be able to focus on developing budding talents); now the issue is, in India's football we CERTAINLY cannot look for instant success and we need have some long term (atleast 10 years) plan, with measurable short term milestone which shall take us to the ultimate objective of being a strong soccer playing country. And come what may we need to stick to that plan, else we would keep on going backward....

    A poor product can be well packaged and sold. This is a proven theory. Take the example of Maldives. They play worse football than us or nearly equal to us. Don't their fans watch European leagues? Of course they do! But still they have a great fan following for local clubs and the national team. In the whole of south-asia region, they are the only ones who can boast of travelling fans.<div><br></div><div>They are better in presenting their product. Look at our AIFF awards and look at this. Just check the poster out and you will know the difference</div><div><img src="https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/576056_373581499351394_108987295810817_1056447_308553846_n.jpg">;

    One reason might be value for money.It is not that easy to settle down in India and perform.So recruiters stick to tried and tested.Even Densil was not up to the mark last season.<br>

    Anyone heard of Sanjeeva Rangpi? I guess people originating from North East will be able to identify him. One of the most impressive talents produced from North East India, but unfortunately he never got an opportunity to play for any I-League clubs :-( <div><br></div><div>Finally, he gets an opportunity to realize his dream of playing in I-League, thanks to Lajong FC. Being a North East citizen, I am very very happy hearing about this news. I hope other I-League clubs will follow the suit and unearth some of the hidden talents from remote parts of the country.<div><br></div><div>Here's the source of the news: <a href="http://liveindianfootball.netne.net/1_42_Indian-Football-Transfer-Rumors-Updates-News-Confirmed-Transfers.html">http://liveindianfootball.netne.net/1_42_Indian-Football-Transfer-Rumors-Updates-News-Confirmed-Transfers.html</a>  </div></div>;
